SSincere: You virtually never see that in either the ZUN official manga or even less in doujins. Shanghai has gone from being a Shanghai - a generic type of doll you can just blow up with Mafu "Aatifuru Sakurifaisu" -- to basically being Alice's daughter. And that's not surprising. Once you leave the danmakku screen world, you find out things like that Shinki "created" Alice and thinks of her like a daughter, so like mother, like daughter. I think the same thing happened to Hourais in some stories. There's a Hourai that's Shanghai's big sister. I don't think Goliath dolls have been humanized and sympathized with, though.

In most of the others, she's either nude or covered in blood and guts. Sometimes both.

^The way I understood it was that Ritsuka Fujimaru was the official/default name regardless of gender, but meanwhile, it was fairly common for people to refer to the female PC as "Gudako" and the male PC as "Gudao".

@SakuraCartelet Unlike Rika who may say she likes guys but we know she is a canon lesbian, Hinano actaully does like guys (confessed to one during a recent event), although when she almost died she did think of Emiri which gave me a bit of hope for them. Might be unrequited love on Emiris side though :(

Wasn't it similar with with Sayaka and Kyoko in original series? I mean Sayaka's wish was based around Kyosuke yet she and Kyoko are still a popular ship. Also in Hinano's side story Emiri get's in trouble with some toxic gas and she (Hinano) rushes in to save her. All in all I'd think Hinano is more than likely bi and the only true magical girl that is heterosexual is probably Aimi Eri.
