I'm not really feeling the anime so far. The comedy doesn't come off well - funny moments tend to be indicated by a "boing" sound after which Nako explains the punchline in inner monologue.

Nako's sides are officially Bocchi's property. She claimed them as far back as Chapter 3.

Plot development?!

Oh, great timing to upload, right at the end of the anime.
It's good that Bocchi and Kai get to know about each other's situation, even if through indirect means. Knowing the other's feelings, how they still care and love each other, and how they're still giving their all despite the pain, that's certain to give them strenght in the coming days,
Plus, Bocchi sleeping on Nako's lap pillow is confirmed, so yeah, that's a plus.

After finishing the anime, I rushed here to finally catch up with the manga like I wanted to do ages ago.
It's just as good as expected.

Now as far as subtext goes, I think there really isn't any more defined than

these two lesbian parents.

Bocchi isn't easy to see in a relationship, so I'm fine with her getting lots of friend-ship for now~

Sotoka, Hime and Kakeru are on the same level as Iko, so it's kinda balanced.

Whoah, this chapter was pretty intense. Two new extra-gimmicky characters, fast paced befriending action, and BLOOD.
Even the Yuri got amped up a bit, with Sotoka's devotion to Bocchi (that "someday" on page 5, though), Genki's worship of Minagawa, and Iko's obsession specifically with Genki('s blood).
