I just want to say that from my own personal perspective, finding the person you’re together with (or who is trying to get back together with you) naked in bed with someone else has very, very few acceptable explanations, and “I was really drunk, and besides, nothing happened” isn’t one of them.

After being on both ends of the stick even I agree there’s not a good reason to climb in bed and have naked cuddle time with someone who isn’t your partner.

Unless you were drugged or black out drunk then that means you were violated against your will and that’s an entirely different thing.

I didn't take Seju's silence when Sumin accused her of lying to meant that she was definitely guilty. It is a possibility she too was wondering why the concierge didn't stop them at the time. Maybe he stepped out for a bathroom break or decided he couldn't be arsed to do his job properly that night. That could have happened. Just saying.

Personally, I just find it unlikely Seju would willingly do it with a guy, considering she's not interested in men by her own admission, coupled with the fact she's so in love with Sumin. If it did happen, I'm more inclined to believe the bartender took advantage of her when she's drunk. Something about him seems to rub me wrong the way he was bothering Seju and prying about her love life instead of leaving her be.

Not trying to justify Seju's action. She made a mistake trying to find her answer in the bottom of a glass. Hopefully, if she does end up being with the new girl, she'll remember not to repeat this mistake ever again.

Maybe he stepped out for a bathroom break or decided he couldn't be arsed to do his job properly that night. That could have happened. Just saying.

There’s no way a guard would let an unconscious resident be escorted up to their room by an unauthorized visitor. He could lose his job or worse go to jail. An apartment filled with wealthy people means an apartment filled with powerful people.

If the guard was gone they have security cameras and a smart woman like Seju would know to use it to corroborate her story and help her keep her girl.

It’s more likely that Seju dropped her unable to properly consent argument because Sumin poked a hole in it.

If Seju was telling the truth she would insist. She was already letting Sumin throw stuff at her and held Sumin down on the floor so she clearly has no problem asserting herself. Because of this, the pause feels like she was thinking of a way to get out of the mess without actually accepting full responsibility because that’s her intention from the beginning.

She admitted it was a mistake, not that she made a mistake, and blamed it on the drink.

When that didn’t work her reaction was to turn the tables on Sumin and her doing that just screams that she’s looking for a scapegoat.

The rational thing for Seju to do, given that she was so in love with Sumin, was to talk to Sumin about how she was feeling. Instead she attacked Sumin for being a sad sack about her parents death (the situation felt like she was daring Sumin to just go ahead and leave her) and then went to a bar so it’s not like Seju was making smart decisions at the time.

I don’t think we were ever meant to pay that much attention to the bartender. He was a typical guy who wanted to score with a hottie.

The sexual interaction between Seju and him was not shown because she rejected his advances prior and seeing them in bed together after that contributed more to the shock factor, also we were seeing the reveal from Sumin’s perspective. The omission was not so we can wonder whether or not Seju was passed out drunk.

Seju being unable to properly consent is essentially rape. TG would have definitely addressed that if this were the case because that’s certainly an issue worth going over in full detail but the bartender isn’t even mentioned in their fight. Seju doesn’t even bother trying to blame him at all.

But she was trying to share the blame with Sumin. Seju basically admitted she cheated because she had been afraid Sumin was going to leave and that it was also Sumin’s fault because she made Seju feel insecure.

Not trying to justify Seju's action. She made a mistake trying to find her answer in the bottom of a glass. Hopefully, if she does end up being with the new girl, she'll remember not to repeat this mistake ever again.

I think Seju learned from her mistakes since she finally let Sumin go.

Sungji is an insecure girl who thought Sumin doesn't love her but tried to be confident about her relationship with Sumin. But just when she thought she's successful in trying to convince herself that Sumin loves her, that confidence got shaken when she saw how worried Sumin was about Seju's situation when they overheard the men discussing about Seju in the cafe. That's the turning point that made Sungji truly think that Sumin loves Seju the most so she broke up with Sumin the next moment. As for them getting back together, Sungji saw how lost and empty Sumin was without her and she's all alone (Sungji might have thought Sumin got back with Seju at first). After all that, Sungji finally realized that she is the one Sumin truly loves.

If Seju shows up again, Sungji will go back to square one, no?

Why would she? The fact that Sumin was so broken over Sungji leaving her and never getting back together with Seju already gave Sungji the assurance that Sumin loves her and no one else. I'm sure Sungji is now confident about her relationship with Sumin whether Seju comes back in the picture or not.

It was like that too when Sumin x Sungji broke up for the first time.

Nah. Both instances are significantly different from each other.

The first break was more of a cool-off than an actual break-up because Sungji couldn't break up with Sumin completely. She needed some time to think and decide whether to move on or not. Sumin cheated on Sungji to give Seju her last wish before they part because let's be real, there was still some feelings lingering from Sumin's part for Seju even though Sumin was already in love with Sungji. Sumin was still somehow indecisive and a coward by that time, hence she couldn't give Sungji a reason as to why she should stay with her. She felt guilty. Sungji on the other hand was confused and was deeply hurt that she thought Sumin was so fast to leave her while Sungji wanted to hold on. She kept saying she couldn't forgive her. They got back together mainly because Sungji wanted to give her another chance and she loved her too much to leave Sumin and not because she felt Sumin loved her the most. The insecurity in Sungji was still there though. She was even apologizing for loving Sumin.

Now, compare that to that real breakup that happened towards the end. Sungji let Sumin go because she wants Sumin to be happy because she thought Seju was the one Sumin truly loves. I also think she pitied Seju so she gave up on Sumin. It's a very selfless decision from Sungji's part. She took Sumin back this time because she saw how much Sumin loved her and only her. It was also evident that Sumin no longer held any romantic feelings for Seju. She broke free from Seju's suffocating cage.

In short, the two breakups are massively not the same. The motivations, reasons and circumstances differ.

Yeah, the two breakups are not the same in terms of motivations, reasons and circumstances. I would say that their third breakup would also be different in terms of such. Sumin is still working at Seju's company and living in the house full of her past with Seju. Which gives rooms for drama to happen if Seju still wants to hold on.

Seju already cut all ties with Sumin. She passed the house to Sumin and is no longer working at Hello Studio. Now she's moving to somewhere else, I believe Seju is not that kind of person who easily changes her mind once decisions are made. If she is leaving, that means she will not come back there. At least for a certain time until she can forget all memories about Sumin and treat her like a friend.

So I started reading this story, and because it's so good I am paying for it on Lezhin and all. However: I now realized I prefer the SejuxSumin pair than the blondie girl, Sungji. Should I keep paying or is this headed in the direction of the most profound depression, as it seems to be? lol

A story about Seju spending 10 years trying to move on with other 30 partners but all fail sounds interesting though.

Well, since you asked, I'm going to be a nice person and give you a heads-up.

MAJOR SPOILER ALERT, read at your own discretion:

Drop this manhwa as fast as possible if SejuxSumin is your OTP and you can't handle an ending with your ship sinking.

Seju cheats on Sumin/gets drugged and raped (one of the most important points of debate in this manhwa as it is portrayed very vaguely) and they break-up. Sumin doesn't give Seju any chance to explain herself as she is coping with her parents' death at the time and it's is too much for her too handle.

Even after their break-up, they are in an on-and-off sexual relationship for ten years, which does nothing but to help in the process of increasing the toxicity they had from the beginning of their relationship. As revealed in the flashback side story, during the course of their relationship, Seju is overbearing and controlling at times and Sumin is a shy doormat who loses all of her social life in the process of compromising with her. They obviously end on bad terms and have no possibility of getting back together.

TL;DR: SungjixSumin is end game. Seju and Sumin part ways for good (implied). Seju gonna get a new love interest in the next side story.

Hey, not necessarily! Bloom Into You was an exception, because I find Yuu too much like a child :P

Besides I like Sungji so far, it’s just that Seju is getting so much attention in this story that Sungji seems like a side character even though I thought she was the main love interest. I am still around 30% into the chapters though so maybe it will change...

My own take is that a number of readers mistook an authorial error (an over-emphasis on Seju and an underdevelopment of Sungji) as a problem with the character rather than with the kind and amount of attention the author decided to devote—or not—to the character.

Though to be honest, Sungji is so far pretty well written for a character meant to represent a kind of “vanilla person”.

I think it’s because:

near the beginning of their friendly relationship, the moment Sungji hugged Sumin instead of asking her for sexual favors, Sumin finally realized that Sungji’s thoughts [and love] for her were somewhat innocent and not clingy/physical like those other cheap girls who asked her for physical favors. I guess Sumin has a rather different taste for girls, for those who are not “tainted,” if that makes sense.

In a way Sungji was exactly the kind of genuine person Sumin was looking for imo. Drama free and honest I guess

Seju is already much too late in apologizing or trying to clear up misunderstandings, and Sumin shares only a dark past with her, so in a way it’s kinda too late for them to repair their relationship. They still do care much about one another and sometimes secretly help one another, but they miscommunicated for too long and ended up tainting one another.

I'm sorry for kinda ruining your reading experience haha :P But yes, I definitely recommend continuing reading the manhwa. Even though people hate it calling it only "cheap sex manga" it portrays the characters and their emotions brilliantly. And there is a level of subtlety that makes it even more interesting. One of my favorite manhwas for sure.

Btw, unrelated, but have you read "The Love Doctor"? If you have, I'd like to know your opinion about it, since both have kind of similar settings (Young girlxAdult woman, High-school-sweethearts-love-triangle)

Haven't read that one yet.

As for WDTFS, does anyone know where to keep paying the manga author? Last year I paid for half the chapters in Lezhin at once and forgot about it, only picked up the series to read again last week. When I tried to go beyond the chapters I had bought I was informed the series was terminated (???). But I found the rest of the series for free elsewhere. The series is too good and I would be happy to pay for it, so if there is a way of doing that let me know.

Here is my impression of the 3 characters so far (am halfway through the series):

  1. Seju genuinely loves Sumin, but because of her traumatizing family situation she doesn't know how to love properly. She can't be vulnerable and express her affection in a healthy way. She is emotionally dependent on Sumin at this point, which is why she can't be honest (out of fear of losing her).

  2. Sumin in my opinion loves Seju, and not Sungji (sorry fans). She was initially in their relationship a very emotionally honest person who showed vulnerability. Then that got destroyed by the entire drama of her family and Seju's betrayal. However, the way she handled the problem was very immature. She doesn't take responsibility for things, because she was always cared for and sheltered of any consequences by Seju. In a way it's like Seju accepts to be the bad person who gets blamed on every time for all of Sumin's problems. So yeah in my opinion, out of all of them Sumin is the biggest (and perhaps only) asshole.

  3. Sungji is turning out better and better in my opinion. The vulnerability that she shows is key to the story because it's what Sumin needs, and what Seju should be doing but isn't. At this point, I also wonder if a lot of the things Sungji does are simply spontaneous or if it's partly deliberate because she senses that's what Sumin needs. She is fighting to be with her in her own way, which makes her not as vanilla as I thought. I mean, is Sungji the true fox here? lol

  4. The reason I feel at least at the moment Sumin loves Seju and not Sungji, is because I am pretty sure if Seju gave her the vulnerability she needs, she would simply be with Seju.

You can sign up on Tappytoon. The author made a tweet about that platform, as the one officially translating the manhwa in English. Only 32 chapters have been released so far. It's going to take a while for the site to catch up to the end of the main story and the side story.

No matter what type of shit Seju pulls, they won't work after Sungji finally knew Sumin's heart. You sound like you want them to break up so bad lmao. (Also, how many accounts are you gonna use to reply to me "ddd" , "ee" or perhaps "yoonie"...??? ) Seju/Sumin ain't gonna happen ever again. Even Seju already let go, you should too.

Oh btw, saw these new sweet Sumin/Sungji artwork from Gaji. I don't know if they're from the new chapter but I got diabetes tbh https://twitter.com/sumincheodol/media

Cheating is never right but the situations are different enough to understand why things happened.

Sumin just suffered a tremendous emotional blow because her parents died a month ago. The one person she had left, the one she’s been with for years and was ready to devote her entire existence to, betrayed her.

In their argument before the cheating happened Seju was the one in the wrong yet Sumin was the first one to try to mend the bridge. Sumin was prepared to be the partner Seju wanted but Seju didn’t give her time to adjust to her life being turned upside down.

And apart from the confrontation that happened after the cheating, they never had another chance to talk because of what happened with Sumin’s shoulder (the reason she has a tattoo). If that never happened, maybe Seju would have eventually tried even more to apologize (she never really made an effort out of her guilt) and Sumin would have been more receptive to Seju’s advances after some time, like in Sungji and Sumin’s case.

The main problem with Seju and Sumin is timing.

In Sumin and Sungji’s case, Sumin approaches Sungji with honesty after her cheating, fully prepared to suffer the consequences. She admits her fault, something Seju hadn’t been willing to do at the time. Seju blames the drink and then Sumin for what happened with them so naturally Sumin’s even more pissed.

I think Sumin’s already forgiven Seju for cheating, especially after she did the same thing. They’re just never gonna get back together because Sumin realizes that love and forgiveness won’t undo all the hurt they’ve caused each other.

And I’m not saying Sumin is right, just that it’s understandable why she’d been so bitter and unwilling to forgive Seju prior to when she cheated on Sungji.

lol BTW I am fully aware I am like one of those people commenting about old news from a decade ago, but hey, I still gotta comment and my gf is not into manga so...

I understand. I only discovered WDTFS last year and this forum a few months ago so I know all about wanting to vent.
