I hate open ended endings (ESPECIALLY when there's no "The End" on the page)
This isn't a satisfying end, nor does it come off as a "good end" to me
If I confessed to someone and in response they turn our 1on1 Christmas Hangout into a group thing, I'd take that as rejection
If they actively start avoiding me, id also take that as rejection
If her being flustered by the guy confessing doesn't mean she's interested, why isn't it the same mindset applied when the girl does it?
Once feelings are processed, it could easily lead to rejection.
P22 was a much more satisfying end, cuz as far as we know, her crush is still just avoiding her. Imo it'd be a much more satisfying end if she got her to stop running away, confessed once more with all her heart, and asked for a response of any kind (Yes/No/Maybe so/I need some time to think)
Because she's essentially in the same situation as before; she's in a limbo between herself and the girl, at first it was her feelings not reaching her friend, now it's her not even being able to talk to her friend.
It's completely understandable why ppl aren't satisfied with an ending like this, because not responding to a confession is also a response; it's not a good one. And I feel like when the end game is obvi them getting together, an open ending is supposed to make us the reader, question whether or not they actually do— if this was a clear cut case, they would've gotten together.
