rare ship alert. I'm on board with nico/kotori, why the heck not.

Also in the context of this story i suppose i'm fine with a guy being involved because it fits the narrative without forcing readers to witness the actual relationship with a faceless male. Especially in a series known for having one (1) somewhat notable male character (being honoka's father, whose face we never even see, and who supports his daughter and her (girl)friends and dreams and he was great ok).

Honestly surprised to see a dude on Honoka's arm, but I like it in the context of this story. Makes it a bit more realistic since it's pretty rare for EVERYONE in your friend group to be banging each other.

Nicotori's relationship is a bit ambiguous. Is this before they're dating or is it a casual dating where it's a onesided love from Nico's side? ...I guess I'll put this under "it's complicated".

Honoka was tired of being the 9th wheel and waiting for Tsubasa!

I am a diehard NicoMakian (Eastern Rite) but I think NicoTori/KotoNico isn't that rare a pair anymore. They're both together a lot making costumes for the group. They're the only two to create a persona and sell it. The fact that they have two shipping names is probably an indication of something.

Anyway, I ship Nico with Maki and Kotori with Umi, but this is still cute.

This is what I got out of it: Kotori was at least somewhat still in love with Honoka, and that's why Nico congratulated her for making it through the wedding without making a scene or crying more than is normal.

Nico and Kotori are living together, maybe just as roommates, maybe friends with benefits, and Nico's gradually fallen for Kotori. Kotori's confession to Nico in this scene is expressed somewhat facetiously, so Nico doesn't trust it or take it seriously.

And now, after the wedding, they're going to go home and Kotori is going to forget about the wedding, probably by doing something with Nico. Meanwhile, Kotori's confession is still up in the air, because Nico still doesn't know how seriously to take it.

I think that's the bittersweet quality.
