Possibly it was a bad way to translate the "-su" that Momo adds to the ends of her sentences.

Why on earth would you translate a sentence ender? I thought I was reading a mangastream translation, which severally hampers the nice overall story.

If anyone's familiar with Disgaea, prinnies talk with that same -ssu ending. The English translation for their speech is also littered with 'dude's in about every sentence, so if you can imagine that she's talking like a prinny...
