The ex is determined to put her life back on track. She looks for a new apartment and everything.
One night though, she gets drunk and starts reminiscing about the blonde and their time together.
While drunk, she takes a bath, falls asleep... and drowns.

To me personally, this was even more heartbreaking than if she had committed suicide.

So there you have it.

I think my heart cracked when I read this.....

I... I can't . I can't take this anymore. So fucking cruel inhuman bastard !!! Why would you kill her!!!!! Why?! Oh god this is so not fucking cool I hate this manga!! cries uncontrollably
She is is ok? Right guys? Someone gets in her apartment gets her out of the tub and gives her CPR and the person who saves her turns out to be her soulmate and they live happily ever after right?
Because if it isn't I don't know what I will do with myself... I can't.

I kept reading it expecting suicide, but as the chapter went on my heart kept sinking and sinking. Finding out earlier that she suicided was heartbreaking, but then to find out she didn't actually kill herself and it was an accident? Man now I'm depressed. It just sucks since she was pretty set on getting her life back on track too.

She knew that she should get out or else she'd drown...but why? How her hand let go of the bathtub left me puzzled...did she deliberately let go of the bathtub or was it the alcohol's fault? The last dialogue on the last panel makes me think that maybe she finally gave in to her demons at the very end and decided to end her life. It'a bit easier to accept that then that it was just an accident. Either way, this chapter left me almost in tears
It's kind of painful to read ;;;

Why did I read this? It's painful.

Because it's so good

You know what the best part is? The parents will never know what really happened

for better or for worse

I find it funny that a day after a chapter of this released, four works tagged as comedy came out. Like they're trying to get everyone happy again.

The tragedy is too strong with this one Q_Q

The utterly chaotic and careless decisions they make is like a recipe for depression and as much as I want to I can't stop reading it. There is no hope here only serious tearporn.
I really don't know how this will end but I'm thinking they either have to turn themselves in or commit suicide together, however I don't see how turning themselves in would ever make them happy or convince either of them to move on.
Could it end happily and would we even want it to?

You know, for me this is only different from "And she stepped out into the street and a truck hit her" in the sense that it allows for the nasty shenanigans being pulled in the following chapter. I have no respect for this development, it's gratuitous.

Somehow although objectively maybe it's not that terrible a move, subjectively for me it just breaks me out of the manga. It's weird, from being fascinated I'm suddenly just not interested any more. It's like, I suddenly shifted from feeling like I was reading about a life, to feeling like I was reading a plot being managed to maintain my angst levels, and I lost the immersion.

I completely agree, and not just on a personal level. It's bad storytelling to go on this far.

To have a downward slope where one bad thing after another happens without any upswing or hope in between it quick to lose the interest of a reader. Usually if you're going to have a bad ending you set the audience's hope's really high that it will turn out good before you crash it down, and vice versa for a good end. All seems lost? Well, chances are they're about to make a really fulfilling comeback. (You see this pattern more because audiences tend to enjoy good ends, but the reverse shows up sometimes too.)

That's the gist of the simple version of it. (And this can be broken skillfully, but this is not that.) Obviously you don't want a story to be predictable, but this story is just....boring. It's bad, and it keeps getting worse. No blips of anything else on the radar. In some ways, it IS terribly predictable, and I only check to see what's happening in reader comments before skimming through a few pages unemotionally.

From what I remember back when I started reading this with much less chapters, this story had a promising start, exciting even, before the pattern became obvious and overdone.

Not that it matters, but she handed in 550 yen, in the first pages, not 500.
You can also tell by how much from the look of the coins, and from how she got 300 yen back from a 250 yen purchase
Lol it's pretty pointless to mention it, but seeing that she got 300 yen but based on the dialogue, only paid 500 yen for the bento really bugged me and I kept going backwards

EDIT: Oh man, from looking at the pages when she bought her bento, I kept wondering, why are the coins important? Why is the author showing us the coins in the register? Why, in the previous chapter, did the blonde take notice of the spare change she had in her pocket? Sure, she didn't expect to find any money, but why was it relevant?
And apparently, the 500 coin is something rare enough, or hasn't been seen in some time. I wonder what the deal with it is.
And damn, now that I think of think, she didn't read the letter yet.
Maybe glasses lady will read it first. I'm really worried about what it says.
This entire series is really worrisome.

Megane-san has held on to these 550 yen for years. Ever since that time in high school.
That's why they're important. They're symbolic of the debt she felt she needed to pay to Blonde, and the reason she married that husband of hers in the first place. If memory doesn't betray me. We should all re-read the previous volume.

And maybe she gave the whole 550 to get 300 back, as a rounder sum.

I don't....this...too much...fudge. My heart aches so much. I felt like all the strength i have in my body got washed away and...it's not because of my feet injury that is so painful but this is much more painful. Oh my God...the feelings here are so strong and I'm only at chapter 9. I can't go on much further. Call me weak but this is too much for me. Too much....the angst level is over 9999 and...oh my gawd...too much...like, c'mon, there must be a limit of how much someone could ruin her own life right? I mean...maybe these things do exist and...it hurts. The feels, man. It hurts so much. Their physical, psychological, mental, and other blah-als are so much in pain and there's no way to get out of those. I shall stop at chapter 9 and raise the white flag. I'm sure the artist has good intentions in writing this. It's just a series of unfortunate events that I couldn't handle. Oh gawd..too much...good luck to this series and its readers. I have a weak heart so I am out. I'll just go back and read the ending when everything is over.
