Of the 34 animes of the upcoming season there only 4 seem to be moe. 2 of 11 shorts. on the on-going season.
of so many (like 40?) only 5.

On ecchi, just by skimming around you can easily tell that there aren't actually many.

Funny, one can easily say the same of just about every genre :p

There are clones everywhere.

There is actually a lot of everything else that is also bad, believe it or not. Blanketing specific genres for the fault of the entire entertainment business is quite the ignorant claim.

I know, I'm so edgy and cynical. It's the same with video games, I have little time for hobbies and so the things I could watch with leisure I cannot anymore. Then It hit me that literally everything was a clone or a sequel and my happiness of youth was gone.

Fortunately there are other mediums of entertainment that I haven't given up on yet. Unfortunately I have a backlog with those, so I can't go back in time where everything was perfect.. or not.

Also have they said how long Gakkou Gurashi is running? If it's one season it's 100% not getting an anime-only ending. I'd guess that they're going to aim for the end of vol5, which is open-ended but works as an ending. That would average like 2.5 chapters/episode; it has fairly long chapters but I don't remember it being very dialogue heavy so it'd probably work okay.

If they're doing two seasons it's going to be a mess unless there's a lot more published than has been scanlated.

I don't follow it either, but it is interesting to see people leaving the show in droves due to tragedy fatigue. Reading a good article the other day about how going too far with the "anyone can die, nobody is safe" robs the series of structure because it cuts too many of the character arcs short.
