Mother of gods the lack of the drama tag is now very glaring lol
Not to mention (after rereading everything) advertising it as just a "teehee! Just a rom com!!" series is crazy work cuz OOOOOOF shit tilts into drama genre hella quick and it ain't even subtle. I REALLY feel for Yuhi rn - just so traumatised and repeatedly treated as lesser and she has ZERO support system in her corner. Absolutely FUCK Mashiro for whatever tf bullshit she's playing at. I just hope Sakurako can actually get through to Yuhi and realise they've both been hurting each other and actually learn to heal from it together after reconciling their past and friendship.
And after rereading - Sakurako's beef with Yuhi is honestly soooo petty... Like does it suck that she got embarrassed af after putting herself out there? Sure. Could Yuhi have been more tactful? Probably! But goddamn to go this far is ruff, especially after getting all this new context. I'm begging for Sakurako to realise that "oh. I've been extremely unfair to you over a slight that i blew out of proportion." Will that happen? Who knows - she's just a teen and teens are dumb, but it would be nice if it did.
From the timeline given, it seems like Yuhi was likely in the middle of being a tool for Mashiro when she initially rejected Sakurako? Or was slightly before that? And just not willing to think of any consequences of her actions until Mashiro was rejected by her sister and she realised she was being used as a placeholder. Either way, I just wanna give Yuhi a hug, cuz this poor girl ain't ever had a person in her corner that she could be fully honest with, and no one to turn to for help ;-;
I agree with the genre and how it went to drama quickly but I disagree with your take on Mochi. After re reading several times. You got to put yourself in Mochi shoes. Your a quiet very reclusive middle schooler who is into yuri pet play and clearly trying to hide it, then one day a girl pops up makes fun of you for reading it and then proceeds to buy the book and you start to develop a middle schooler friendship over something that they probably shouldn’t even be reading at the age. Then mochi probably because this is the most time she spent with anyone proceeds to air out her feelings only to be harshly rejected. This rejection has stuck with her up until we meet her the story where she does not even attempt to date any other girls due to the possibility of her heart being broken.
But even after that imagine the same girl that rejected you falls deeply in love with you based off your beauty calls you a celebrity, that would hurt. And when Mochi was waiting on Amano and Amano got sad she was about to just reveal herself and make fun of her for picking up the girl she rejected, it’s only after she sees Amano girl hopping that she decides to do the whole dog play since she believes Amano played her again. And while Mochi yes did call Amano a dog she couldn’t even keep up the act and revenge for long because her own love and attraction to Amano got in the way of her revenge, not to mention Amano likes it so it’s not much revenge if she likes it. And we see this when Mochi does not know what to do next Amano starts to take the lead.
And throughout the series we see Mochi do her best and try to make Amano feel loved. She invites Amano on a date and picks out the best outfit that she thinks Amano would like, she makes her snacks, and in chapter 6 after her fight with Chiwa she forces Amano to relax and talks to her while laying down with her. And she even drops to me one of the most important lines of the series when Amano is pressuring her to have gex she states that she just wants to see Amano and tell her is that not enough. And then in chapter 6 as well she allows Chiwa a complete stranger into her home to calm her down after Amano ghosted her, she also protected her from the slap Chiwa was about to give her. And then recently she tried to get Amano to talk about her problems but Amano wouldn’t budge and obviously the last time we meet her she has almost fully come to terms that she loves Amano and asks herself what she wants to be with her.
Long story short yes Mochi is weird and socially awkward but the dog thing is a clear cover up for the fact that Mochi can’t put her feelings out there. She attempts to ask Amano to stop girl hopping and mentions she wants to make Amano fall in love with her and her only. She just gets flustered by any physical contact that Amano gives her not to mention she even states that she is easily buttered up and easily swept away by Amano charm and she says that would lead to her being another one of Amano playmates which she does not want that is why she at times is harsh to Amano. If I were you I would re read because Mochi is constantly looking out for Amano and never wants to see her upset. But obviously mochi is still flawed and her keeping the secret identity is a bad thing but compared to Chiwa, Aoi and now Mashirosan she is the only one who truly loves Amano and does not just use her for gex and pleasure.
TL:DR version of my comment:
Basically Mochi/Sakurako isn't that bad a person and actually cares about Amano/her former crush (Debate on maybe still current crush perhaps). Just a bit awkward and acting silly due to misunderstanding.
Random comment/words/text below and thinking:
Which is kind of ironically...She might 'not' be the best person for Amano and vice-versa (There could be better people to date and marry) but out of all the people that Amano knows then Mocchi/MC here is perhaps the only one that truly cares about her the most (Despite holding a small grudge from being rejected and misunderstanding Amano's intentions and feelings at the time).
MC feels a bit guilt about lying (Not revealing who she is) + Concern and feelings for Amano + conflicting feelings of resentment mix with those feeling of concern and affectionate due to misunderstanding about the rejection to her confession years ago (Amano didn't mean for it to sound as bad as it did...). A.K.A- It's a little bit complicated about MC's feelings toward Amano...Which could easily be solved if she reveals her identity and ask more details about the rejection incident that is a simple misunderstanding for both sides (Though that would take a lot of courage/resolve to do which MC doesn't have right now).
The worst thing that MC/Mochi/Sakurako done to Amano Yuhi I 'think' was perhaps making her exercise like a dog/mutt (That is kind of evil...) and spanking her...Which to be fair was to get crazy stalker roommate off her back+ Amano kind of enjoy it a tiny bit despite the pain...They both enjoy it in fact lol (Blocking the slap from stalker girl gets her some points)...Most of the times was playful teasing to get payback which Amano/Yuhi somewhat enjoy since she got to do a few reversal and tease MC back...
Also MC/Mocchi really does truly have a hobby/interest with S&M stuff and pet-play (Though she will never admit it out loud or realize it....Points to her middle school days how reading pet-play yuri pseudo sister romance....She perform the same gesture and poses from the picture of that novel on Amano/Yuhi ironically enough lol. Chapter 2, page 4- similar to the later pages where she uses the tie as a pseudo fake collar to tease Amano)
It was also fking messed up how Mashiro (How dare that b*tch taints Mashir's name o from [A Scummy Gap Student With a Hard Life Calls Upon a Lady of the Night] like that!!!!) casually just mutters the older sister's name while hugging Amano (Hugging the little sister while imaging the older sister she just got rejected by)
The main issue and problem (antagonist of story) is the that horrible B*tch that played with Amano's feelings without a hint of regret or remorse for her actions...+Plus Amano/Yuhi not wanting to talk or open up about her issues to anyone (She needs Therapy once again).
Solution: I already state a few earlier I think (Though we need to add police or something as extra bonus points...At least a punch or kick at the very least if the bonus point is not possible...) XD
Though I do hope the ending of this series doesn't have a sad/bad ending unlike the yuri-sister smut that MC and Amano was reading about in chapter 2...Also ironically similarities since MC is obsessing over Amano just like the Seira(little sister of yuri-smut novel) and cares about Amano (Awkward love)....Though I might be over-reading and over analyzing the similarities of the random yuri novel that MC and Amano had read in their middle school days...
Confusing pacing. Sakurako sends a meetup message, then Amano runs around like she hasn't seen it?
Pedo girl is so disgusting that bullshit about that's how I trained you was so gross.
Sadly if everyone shoots her down then she's gonna feel so lonely that she really will go back to that stupid pedo. Hopefully she sees her message about wanting to say one more thing to her before she decides to go back home.
And it's quite interesting she likes going to the library because it reminds her of Sakurako which means when she was a bitch and turned her down she actually did like her but she was most likely in such a chokehold from the pedo and so brainwashed she turned her down.
Now we wait a few months for another chapter lol thanks for the translate and upload as always

I thought about that as well, the only thing I can assume is everything with her running around looking desperately for somebody to comfort her was before Sakurako sent the text message to her? Even if it isn't displayed that way I'm thinking maybe the start of the next chapter she just going to give up and start heading home in the text messages maybe going to come through? Though that also doesn't make sense because they were both in school so the time should be about the same so I don't know

Yeah, it feels like their two POVs in this chapter should have been switching back-and-forth between to the two to make it clear they run in parallel. As it stands that's just sorta an assumption.
I assumed she saw the meetup message and just chose to ignore it

The text from Sakurako was circled in white on Yuhi's end for emphasis. And it wasn't part of a cutaway scene, so odds are that Yuhi is purposely ignoring it, because she's still trying to cut Sakurako out of her life. This could end up like chapter 1, but reversed, where Sakurako waits unsuccessfully for Yuhi to show up, only for Yuhi to finally break down and come to see her.
Looks like we're reaching the end here, but things are also starting to improve on both sides of this relationship. ^_^

Yeah this is exactly how i think the meet up is going to go a direct parallel to chapter 1
So now we got Mochi’s development which was great her saying that she is still into Amano and crying over seeing her upset is really cute. But as for amano did she not see the text or is she ignoring it because Mochi does not approve of her getting with all the girls, and speaking of that since all her friends are girls with benefits none actually want to help amano when she was in need. We saw Aoi san tell her to forget and then left her the morning after, Chiwa does not want to deal with the drama either. The one girl who truly cared for her she is ignoring.
Also initially i thought she remebered who Mochi was but that reveal is way too big for her just to think of now. So now i believe Amano actually had feelings for Sakurako hence why she goes to the library for comfort. And once Sakurako confessed and she rejected her she was still in kahoots with Mashirosan and if you look at her face during the rejection it looks like she is hiding something. Essentially Amano does not remember who Mochi is exactly but she still dwells on Sakurako the first girl who ever truly confessed to her and once Mochi reveals herself after an emotional talk I'm sure they will be together.
And if this chapter was the end of volume 2. Then if there is a volume 3 i would love to see them in a relationship for a bit as true lovers after they get together.
is she ignoring it because Mochi does not approve of her getting with all the girls
Yuhi cut Sakurako out of her life because Sakurako was pressing her into talking about what was bothering her. Yuhi ended contact because she emotionally couldn't handle having to tell anyone about what happened with Mashiro.
and speaking of that since all her friends are girls with benefits none actually want to help amano when she was in need. We saw Aoi san tell her to forget and then left her the morning after
Exactly.
Chiwa does not want to deal with the drama either.
As Chiwa asked Yuhi "Does that mean anyone will do?" Chiwa's upset that she's being used for comfort and convenience with no regard for her own feelings. Yuhi's using her friends with benefits just as much as they use her.
The one girl who truly cared for her she is ignoring.
And the plot will only move forward when Yuhi quits running away. Sakurako will be stuck waiting loyally until then.

Groom needs to fucking die and leave forever...Possibly and hopefully in jail after getting slapped by the older sister for sleeping with the younger sister/grooming the lil sis/Yuhi/Amano.
Also the flashback to Sakurako and her hanging out...Still thinking about her even now (Sakurako is still holding a small part of good times in the past/friend) after she is such a messed up situation of having so much casual SEGGS and fk buddies...Yeah...Yuhi/Amano once again is not the best at expressing herself and the way she put down/reject Sakurako was likely sounded mean/harsh/dismissal to Sakurako(+Other people if they were in the same nervous position hearing it) but she didn't mean it and probably just thought they wouldn't fit together due to their personality + Groomer Senpai manipulating her at the time/Already in a messed up situation which Yuhi/Amano didn't tell Sakurako about even as a excuse...Basically misunderstanding.
Once again Ch.1P-11/Ch.3P-7 to those future comments hating on (Nickname: Mocchi)/Sakurako due to a/the misunderstanding after revealing and spilling out all her hidden feelings during middle school.
Hmmm....I wonder if Yuhi is just truly just ignoring and trying to avoid Sakurako. The pages and images are showing page 19 and 21 about Mocchi text messages to Yuhi/Amano that she will want to talk but Yuhi/Amano is likely too afraid and avoiding like everyone is claiming and implying which seems obvious. She is too afraid of a serious deep relationship after what she experienced/went thought plus unable to have the courage to reveal what happen to while trying to handle it herself.
Also yes warm kind supportive friendship/reveal of Mocchi/Sakurako true self and feelings to her two friends (The cool looking otaku and the secret gay/yuri friend that gets advice from Sakurako)...Nice warm moment like this and Sakurako revealing her entire situation (Even the pet and owner stuff which I bet got a few shock expression from her friends) for possible advice and Sakurako finally coming to terms to her true feelings.
Hmm that flashback scene I felt like could be half and half-way afterward from their little book review bonding event perhaps...It shows that flashback is very much very beginning of their relationship/friendship but felt that way I mention make more sense perhaps? Eh not a important detail I guess...? Just a flashback to show that Yuhi actually treasure and like her friendship/time with Mocchi/Sakurako.
I hope at the end we get a confrontation and ending after they both make up and get closer where a more confident/assertive Sakurako slap the fucking sh*t out of the groomer when groomer tries to manipulate and harass Yuhi and then telling that fking groomer to not touch her fking mutt/dog while wrapping around a collar in a possessive but lovingly affectionate manner to Yuhi, Sakurako acting cocky and full of confidence as she half hugs and pulls the leash of Yuhi in front of the shocked groomer. Then cue title drop "Don't you fucking touch my Dumb Mutt Girlfriend!" I feel like it would be absolute cinema if that had actually happen. But eh...Just something similar or a good happy ending is good enough I guess too...
End result: Sakurako= becoming a true Dom/master/owner/Lover of Yuhi (With occasional switched and reversal domination due to Mocchi personality not being a full dom)...Would be great but I doubt that would happen sadly since most groomer just gets away scott free without so much as a slap or punch to the face...Very sad...
My immediate thought was that she knows it's Sakurako, hence why she went to the library instead of the Hachiko statue, but maybe it's just a dramatic coincidence about how they're yearning for each other.
Something I love and hate about Kuwabara is how she creates these potential but conflicting relationships within her stories. So I want Sakurako and Yuhi to have an honest talk and continue their dog/master thing, but I also want to keep watching the mess that is Mashiro and Yuhi and how it can get worse.
Kuwabara's next manga should be about a girl with an unrequited love for her best friend that uses her younger sister as a substitute, and then drama.

"A girl with an unrequited love for her best friend that uses her younger sister as a substitute, and then drama threesome."
It kinda feels like it's gearing towards the final act.
Yuhi definitely saw Mocchi's text. The entire point of Chiwa's scene rests on that.
Chiwa noticed that Yuhi doesn't actually care about her, she's just looking for a distraction. She even asks if anyone will do and the implied answer is yes. Except then she follows up by asking "what about Mocchi?" and Yuhi says their relationship isn't "like that". The explicit meaning of her statement is that she doesn't have the kind of relationship with Mocchi where she can just crash at her place for a while, but by juxtaposing those two questions the implication becomes that their relationship is not just a meaningless distraction, unlike everyone else on her contacts list.
Also, I want to point out how Yuhi surrounds herself with just the worst people, while Mocchi's friends actually care about her. I mean they skipped straight past the whole "Actually, I'm gay and the only relationship I've been in was a recent petplay situationship" and straight to reassuring her that they still care about her and want to help. It's a rather stark contrast.
Kuwabara's next manga should be about a girl with an unrequited love for her best friend that uses her younger sister as a substitute, and then drama.
Well, there is that manga about a girl who has an unrequited crush on her best friend's sister, who has an unrequited crush on her best friend. There's even a character in that manga who's into NTR, just like this one. That's pretty much the same thing, right?

I’m like very sure amano decided to ignore that text
Honestly, good on Chiwa for not letting herself be drawn into Amano's self-destruction binge like that. Gotta respect the angry little chihuahua for that
