A deep thanks to the scanlators for their work on this excellent story.

(Page 20) "White lies that needs to be told will be told.

Should be "need".

It's fixed.

A realistic* but satisfying end to the series. Nobody's perfect and nobody's unscathed, but the couple with the best chance made it out alive and intact.

I may like this this more than I actually do because of how shitty the events of the ending of After The Rain were, but I still really liked it.

Oh my.
The last chapter..
Did Ai san create a mental image of Kaede san and talk to her whenever she has something to say?

Oh my..
So... Hmmm

Well I guess all well ends well...(?)

Oh but I like Mbox. The car is so cute xDDDD

Even though.. Ai san umm.. actually she still.. couldn't let go of Kaede san and that Kaede san still believes about soulmate... about Ai san...

She is STILL crazy

Kind of the point. People don't magically stop having deep neurological/psychological problems just because they had a character arc about it. That Ai has learned to live as healthy as possible within the limitations her disorders allow for is both more realistic, and more hopeful for anyone suffering from severe disorders themself.

I really do think that Akiyama-sensei really is unmatched as am observer of the human condition. It's incredibly rare to see this shit treated in a non-exploitative manner. Thank god

Kon finally got her forklift certified girlfriend, I call it a good ending.

Since it is never explicitly mentioned what happened to the pendant, my headcancon is that Ai one day left it on a random park bench or sold it to get that car (hence, Kaede in car).
I will believe in this so that I get to sleep well at night.

In the previous chapter, she said she'd keep it, as a memento, but nothing more.

I like that Ai lied, and said she was thinking about stargazing instead of her ex.
lmao
Is that weird?
But I feel like that was the healthiest, realest thing. Sharing how she's lingering over her ex won't solve anything. It'll just hurt her girlfriend. Sometimes (a lot of times) a person doesn't need to share everything they're feeling in the moment. Like they don't need to discuss EVERYTHING with their partner. Sometimes, I think swallowing regret, "grass is greener on the other side" feelings is the most adult thing to do.
It's not very happy. More bittersweet. But not opening fresh wounds can be an act of kindness.

If we didn't know the context that Ai san has already left Kaede san, then one will assume that Ai san was talking with the real Kaede san-- thus it does look like Ai san is two-timing x'D

But no ..
The dialogue itself kinda tell us how Ai san is slowly letting go but she still has the habit of talking to Kaede san by creating a mental image of her.

I think..
She probably.. it is difficult to tell people some real feelings so having to talk about it to the mental image of Kaede san made Ai san feel a little better.
