Even her Nintendo oneshots back in the 2000s made some of characters depressed. It's difficult to find works of hers that don't have it.

Itou-sensei always manages a way to make her presence felt in the characters.
In inferiority complex and this, it feels like she is talking to herself through time instead of just onee to loli or loli to onee.

i love how this is both bleak and hopeful at the same time? like yeah, life really is like that, but you find meaning in it anyway and keep clawing yourself back up. itou hachi really is one of my fav mangaka.

Ah, the mostly wholesome side of Itou Hachi.
I just adore her art style.

it occurred to me afterward that the anime title might be a reference to powerpuff girls Z, although that's a lot older than 2017. highly recommend watching the transformation sequences from that, they're awesome.

also yeah it wouldn't surprise me at all if this was itou hachi contrasting her adult and child selves. it's honestly a significant thing in her work to have a huge contrast between the complicated ugly reality of adulthood vs the pure-hearted earnest enthusiasm of youth. you could probably write a whole analysis on it if you wanted to.

This oneshot was nice. Im not one to mind when things are short and sweet but a SOL manga about a small background department trying to get through it sounds pretty fun i really liked the little workplace dynamic they had going on.

Itou Hachi has such a way of making manga, both her writing sense and her art style are consistently stellar
