....I can fix her.

To be serious, this is not a character type I was expecting from this manga, and I kinda love her. She's all kinds of fucked up. The blood trickling down her fingertips is just *chef's kiss.

I'm a fan of mentally unstable exes (as long as they get a redemption arc).

ruka’s brother is so handsome man he looks a lot like her i wonder what was his reaction to this whole situation cuz ruka looks pretty much like a kid in the last panel which is kind of fucked-up…

Rin's age is hard to pin down, at least with just chapters 19 and 41. Definitely in high school. Brother was her first high school friend, she introduces herself as "from R middle school", and there's the line about going through partners in 3 months. Which suggests the two of them met in Rin's first year of high school. But we don't know how long it took for Rin to meet Ruka. The other point is in chapter 19, where Rin talks to Ruka about exams and going to college in Hokkaido, to Ruka's devastation, but we don't know how long they'd been "together". Though I suppose we need to leave time for Ruka to mess around in middle school after Rin left?

Minimum age gap would be early 13 and late 15, maximal would be late 12 and early 18. Bit under 3 years or bit over 5 years, with the younger at the 12/13 cusp.

("early" being not that early -- Ruka and Rin meet in winter of Ruka's first year, so at least half the school year has gone by already.)

You also missed the "one year later" line on page 8.
There's two separate instances of "three months later", once on page 6 and one more on page 9, putting it at least 6 months into the second year.

So Rin and Ruka's brother meet at least 3 months into their first year and Rin and Ruka meet at least 6 months into their second year.
That only leaves the time between Ruka and Rin's first meeting and the events of chapter 19 up in the air.

You're right, I did miss those! Thanks!

I was gonna argue about "one year later" maybe being vague, but from Ch 19 we also know it was winter, Ruka's 1st year (middle). I'm not sure when Japan starts counting 'winter' for school (October? December? January)? but yeah, at least 6 months into the school year anyway (since it start in April).

So 13 and 16 as the narrowest possibility. (Or like 13.7 and 16.75, with the right birthdays.) Median gap is 4 years, 13 vs 17.

We do know she was several months into her 1st year of middle school; if it's October, minimum age 12 and 6 months, maximum age 13 and 6 months. (March 31 vs Apr 2 birthdays, say).

How people are drawn is often influenced by stylization, like Contract Sisters where the girl looks like a middle schooler (height, some other features) but is actually 17, which I think is the artist kind of cheating for effect.

Angst in my Manga Time Kirara?????
Wow this series must be popular as hell for the editors to allow that LOL

(Also, there comes a time in every lesbian's life when she starts to find sexualizing men's bodies extremely amusing and can't stop drawing them. It's called the Lesbian Fujoshi Effect, and it's similar to Straight Girl Drawing Enormous Tits Syndrome.)

Also Rin's psychology is actually, behind the dramatization, fairly true-to-life: child caretakers tend to develop all sorts of issues. ...not sure about THIS kind of issue specifically.

Why is she getting accused of grooming.
Have you ever been to a college prep school? I have seen seniors date seventh graders. 14 and 17 ain't shit. (She talks about prepping for college exams, but they start prepping in second year of high school there)

It was universally understood as creepy and nasty when I was in HS. Those years are majorly different for development. A middle schooler to a high schooler is a huge gap. I'm not sure what could have changed or maybe that person is just saying it for the argument.

It's creepy for seniors and seventh graders to date, no doubt. That was hyperbole/illustrative. Of how teenagers don't actually have brains
But a 14 and 17 year old dating doesn't necessarily constitute conscious grooming.
Like, you'd have to be pretty out of it to think that.
Toxic? A really bad idea? Yeah.
But grooming? No.

I think she's still redeemable. Unless you think all cluster B havers should be eradicated on sight. The idea that if you do sufficiently bad things you cant be redeemed is just bullshit that encourages people to double down and I hate it

The thoughts and actions she had in this chapter (and 19) didn't seem conscious to you? If you can reread chapter 19 and this one while thinking she just stumbled into this "relationship" by accident, we'll have to agree to disagree. She made a deliberate decision, then acted on it. Chapter 19 was very coercive and uncomfortable by itself. The things she said. The way she looked at middle school Ruka. Then her thoughts in this current chapter. How is that not purposeful and calculated? Rereading chapter 19 is a must, especially after hearing her plans in this one.
