This was good. I'm always wary of the suicide tag because it's a difficult topic for me, and there are times when authors can use suicide in crude and edgy ways that don't work for me, but was kind and hopeful.

her clothes are different, and the breath indicates cold, that combined with the "someday" leading into it makes me think it's somewhat later, and the wistful look on the shop worker makes me think perhaps the protagonist found her at a bad time and extends a hand in return. obviously it's ambiguous so this is all speculation but that was how i interpreted it
My read on it is that the protagonist is imagining a future scenario in which she can return the favor. Basically thinking, one day when you're down I'll be there to show you the kindness you showed me.
