I was randomly recommended a clip of Craig Ferguson eating chocolate coins on his show while arguing with Geoff Peterson a couple days ago. This is the most I've thought about chocolate coins in years.

The chocolate coins with thick, nested foil are the best.
It's great fun carefully removing the coin, then fitting the foil back together to form an empty coin and pawning it off on somebody else.

I assume the original said osoji (big cleaning), which in Japan is typically done at the end of the year. The idea is that the dirt of this year should be dealt with this year, so that you symbolically enter the new year in a clean, fresh start.
