There are some authors who have that one work which stands out (at least for me) above the rest of what they make, and this one is definitely one of them. I think it's typically the ones where the authors spend less time thinking about convoluted settings and just allow the dynamic of the two characters to shine, without much drama or a need to "get somewhere", which makes the story far simpler but also all much more human, grounded and sweet.
Other examples (again for me): "Cocytus" by Kodama Naoko (too much forced drama in the other stuff), "Still not Normal Today" by U-Temo, "Yuunagi Marbled" by Momono Moto, "Prism" by Higashiyama Shou, "Tankobu" by Kuwabara Tamotsu, "I fell in love for the first time" by Asagi Ryuu, "Shoujo Sect" by Kurogane Ken and "Will these words reach you" by 2C=Galore come to mind.
