More spam

what's up with this one?

Lmao I was wondering what was up with that too. It very much feels like spam but also, I clicked on the link (should probably not have done that) and it was another written piece about the same subject, so no obnoxious product or thing to sell/advertise. If it's spam it's really weird, if it's a genuine post it's really weird too (why ask this on a yuri forum??)

The softness and textures of the lines are so nice, I assume they used pencils for those.
I don't really know how the opening section fits in with the rest but I liked it.

I was very curious why 2 chapters had very different tags from the other ones, I'm still confused about where that came from but it's certainly one of the stories I have read

I was thinking of how many more premises you could add, but I realized the writing would quickly become tedious and the charm would be lost, so 4 pages is a good amount I think.

Why does something wholesome get so much hate? I literally don't understand? Why can't people just bask in the positivity and energy of the series?

This is one of my top fave series.

Though with the rings now brought up, I feel like we're only a few chapters away from the end... I'm sad at the thought of it. Been following Yamada and Kase for YEARS.

I dropped the sequel quite quickly because there wasn't any hint that the writing would change, but is it really that wholesome? The art certainly is but I feel like the characters aren't very good at dealing with their problems in a healthy way, and they kind of keep repeating the same patterns of poor communication. Then, when it comes to the point of actually looking at the problem together, one of them feels guilty and just puts on a cutesy smiley face, and we're supposed to believe it's "solved", until another problem shows up and the whole thing starts over.

It's similar to how you can forgive a teenager for getting infatuated with people and getting themselves into the same dysfunctional relationships over and over, but as they start growing up, it stops looking cutesy and genuinely starts becoming worrying, because it shows that they cannot develop deep bonds built on a solid basis.
(I suspect that the author isn't super interested in drama either, based on the tone of the prequel "Kase-san", which is why they are not so good at writing it, but they're looking for reasons to milk the series because that's what the industry incentivizes, but eh that's my personal cynical take based on little info)

Edit: Just to be clear I'm not trying to "convince" you that I'm "right", I just wanted to share what I see, but obviously just read what you enjoy, who cares what others think.

Wow the title is great lmao. Felt like this was just the right length to be funny and sweet without dragging on for too long and becoming a gimmick.

Probably my favorite yuri story for how direct and sweet it is. The way it got canceled is kind of crazy because it feels so outside of the usual reasons that stories get canceled lmao. In a way I wonder if it didn't help the overall quality of the story, by keeping it short and sweet? Perhaps there's an alternative universe where the story never gets canceled but starts dragging on for wayyy too long and people get sick of it and start seeing this as just another of "those".

There are some authors who have that one work which stands out (at least for me) above the rest of what they make, and this one is definitely one of them. I think it's typically the ones where the authors spend less time thinking about convoluted settings and just allow the dynamic of the two characters to shine, without much drama or a need to "get somewhere", which makes the story far simpler but also all much more human, grounded and sweet.

Other examples (again for me): "Cocytus" by Kodama Naoko (too much forced drama in the other stuff), "Still not Normal Today" by U-Temo, "Yuunagi Marbled" by Momono Moto, "Prism" by Higashiyama Shou, "Tankobu" by Kuwabara Tamotsu, "I fell in love for the first time" by Asagi Ryuu, "Shoujo Sect" by Kurogane Ken and "Will these words reach you" by 2C=Galore come to mind.

Lightsteam posted:

I think it's been a bit more than 10 years since I discovered Dynasty-scans. It was definitely in 2014, but I'm not sure what time of the year. early spring I think?

Wait, I do remember I stumbled upon the site through Miku x Luka doujins (even though I'm not too familiar with Vocaloid), notably Sekihara Umina's work (among other).

There’s something at once curious and a little dizzying in reckoning with the passage of time: nearly ten years gone, which felt like only one, and yet also like a hundred, since I barely recognize the person who wrote the first comments on my profile. Back then I was a teenager, just discovering yuri, without the faintest trace of critical or philosophical distance, bingereading whatever I could find on the site.
And now? I can't open a single one without letting it slip from my hands. Stumbling back onto this site did not so much spark a sudden urge to read as it summoned a strange, almost jarring recollection, an anamnesis of sorts: what have all the users I used to talk to become? Skimming through the older pages of this thread felt like opening time capsules: not quite forgotten, yet nearly so, ‘like tears in rain', eh? I see a few are still posting, but it is the absent majority have in mind. I sure hope the suicidal found the courage to carry on, the broken-hearted discovered love, the restless came to peace and the yuri-starved got all the literature they needed. Talk about a throwback!

Definitely something strange about witnessing the effects of time, because so many things have changed in my life but also I can only make sense of them in hindsight. The stories on this site have undoubtedly shaped my earlier life, but there's also a part of me that thinks that my place is in real life and that Yuri can sometimes (not always) be a sort of escape from that reality.

On the subject of "absent majority", there was this user called TEMP who posted really insightful comment-essays. They deleted their account so it's not easy to find them anymore, but at least the posts are still there. The ones I remember are from Brides of Iberies (p19 of the comments), Blue Garnet (p1) and the Princess of Sylph (p1). Maybe they too felt like life was calling them and wanted to move on, but I hope they're doing well.
There's something a bit heart-rending about seeing all those users whom you only saw their username and profile pictures but still were frequent enough of a presence for me that I vaguely knew them, because evidently they have moved on, but I just wish there was some type of "farewell" as lame as it sounds, because of course we are strangers and never even properly talked to one another.

The reason why this one is such a vibe is because the core is simple but important, and done well: our main characters are not normal, probably never will, and that's fine. It's not a glamorous reality, it's not like they are so weird that they end up becoming cool or whatever, it just is how it is and they enjoy one another's company, however they can, even if their relationship too is not normal. And it also doesn't lean into the other extreme of cynicism-porn, where the main characters are the victims of impossibly sad events one after another just for the hell of it, no it's just life.
I'm writing this off my memory, maybe I'll feel differently after re-reading this, but I did get a fairly mellow sense of time from the story, like somehow things simply are okay by their nature, even if there was some of the inevitable dread of being a young adult and seeing the "normal" you decided to reject because it wasn't for you.

Edit: I can see why people feel some angst reading this. The sense that people are "moving along" in life but that you aren't and such, the conflict between not wanting to do things you hate but also the loneliness that accompanies it. I think what keeps this interesting for me is that the main characters don't spiral into negativity but are simply there for one another, in whatever way they can. I think it's one of the better stories on this site and I'm glad that it didn't drag forever and ended properly. Just like the general theme of the story, things aren't properly "over" because nothing in life truly is, things just change and we can decide to accept it or not.

Also ch18.2 ending with "Yamashita 100" is so sweet.

Not sure what's weirder, the whole chapter being skipped or the fact that the MC just puked out of nowhere on her other self

Taking a glance at the latest chapters on Mangadex and ...
You might not be surprised to learn that there is more drama ahead lol

I don't care enough about this to follow it regularly (plus having to translate it etc.), so could anyone interested in the story explain what's going on in the latest chapter? (the releases on twitter, not here)
Why are the two crying? Crying in a good way or over drama?

I liked it! Even if the ending feels very out of the blue considering the theme up until now of terrible adults creating awful inescapable situations for the children which they have to cope with as best as they can, but I won't complain because the story didn't drag itself needlessly. Not super convinced the two would have a very healthy relationship afterwards either, but eh, it's a story not reality.

This is hella toxic but my eyes can't look away. The fact that they put the "beware bears" sign themselves makes sense (p31), there probably aren't any bears, but I wonder if it's actually going to play a role in the future.
Also are they eating ... flowers on page 28 chapter 8?

Btw, we're up to ch.12 scans on Dex. Wasn't sure if people here were aware.

Thanks! Will check out

Thanks for the translations in the comments! Honestly this has way too much drama for me to be interested in keeping up release by release, I think I'll just wait for it to be done
