Ooooh! This has some potential!

The hints of darkness underneath the glossy fairytale cover...

Quite surprising that Alice in Wonderland didn't show up. Alice always appears in a fairytale themed story for some reason, but not this time. Maybe one of the normal girls is secretly Alice (given how Alice in Wonderland goes...)

I wonder why, whenever a story gets Fairytales as a theme, the story is either going to be sugary sweet or omnious.

Jiminy cricket! Jiminy Cricket x Pinocchio yuri!
I took a class about the history of French fairytales once, fairytale have changed a lot over the centuries but I am so eager for this new evolution~~

I hope Alice shows up! It's ch01 so maybe in the next chapter?

I think it is maybe the nature of the fairytales, they are normally aimed towards kids but a lot of them were also meant to scare kids about dangers in the world as well. However when used as a theme, an author then often chooses one of these two routes, either the sugary sweet fantastical setting or the ominous consequences present.

Not gonna lie “Lord of the Red Riding Hoods” caught me off guard. It’s a… unique direction to go with that story, at least.

Either way, this looks neat, so I’m in. I will admit that I do not vibe with the concept of Jiminy Cricket x Pinocchio, though

This looks promising, especially Mari. She's adorable!

Maybe Alice didn't show up because she s not the protagonist of a folk fairy tale, but of a modern(ish) book.

This is so silly

Definitely has potential, though it will be interesting to see if the author goes down the original fairy tale route (often very dark & with quite grim endings) or the more modern route (lighter with "they all lived happily ever after" endings)

I misread Marie as Mario at the character page

This, yeah. Alice in Wonderland isn't actually a fairy tale, much less one from Grimm's Fairy Tales. It's a novel by Lewis Carroll from 1865.

Aah, you are right. I forgot that one of the criterion's for a fairy tale is length. Alice in Wonderful is far too long to qualify. It also does not have routes in being a folk tale.

Though in terms of being modern(ish), I think the Grimms would also be considered modern by that standard. The Grimm's Collections of Fairy Tales had 7 editions from 1812-1857. The Little Mermaid was originally published by Hans Christian Andersen in 1837. Neither of them are that far off from when Alice in Wonderland was published.

Grimm collected older tales though, maybe with some rewriting, but not inventing from scratch. Little Mermaid was all HCA though, I think.

"I couldn't ask her name"

...but you could write her notes? So you could write her "what is your name?"

smh blatant plot holes...

That was a great chapter!

So it doesn't appear to be dark in a conspiracy way but more in a tragic fate way.

I like both the art and the idea of yuri fairy tale characters in a school but the story feels a bit slapdash. The characters being well aware of their fairy tales strikes me as humorous for some reason, so it's hard for me to take the drama seriously.

Still an interesting read and I'll happily read future chapters.

Ever After High with intentional yuri? I'm having fun with it, even if I agree the plot is very dramatic nothing lol. I am looking forward to Red Riding Hood & Cinderella's chapter; their intro was the most intriguing to me, with whatever 'silver riding hood' means.
Also why do Hansel and Gretel get lips but only when they kiss, that made me laugh so hard.

Because of the "Incest" Tag, I thought this chapter was gonna go down the same route as Yurimm Fairy Tales.
