I dig this more than most "fall in love with the villainess" love plots. Mostly because there's some danger involved and the evil forces are actually evil. At least to some degree. I thought this would end up being just a comedy slapstick with some incompetent demons and their goofy shenanigans but so far in 4(+1) chapters we had two attempts to kill or at least harm the princess.
I guess it's a bit too early to say anything else. The princess seems like the caged bird type who wants to be set free and not much was said about the demon lord herself. But I do like it so far, so I can't wait for more.
I love how you just assume that the demons are the evil ones when it could very much be the human side. First girl littreally thought the princess was trying to undermind her lord and aggression at her is expected since she just explained they had a war.
Okay, I know that “humans are the evil ones” is a common trope in this kind of work, but in this case there are at least two different creatures that eat human flesh, a reference to humans as an “inferior species,” an apparent attempt on the princess’s life by a jealous crab queen, and a siren who I’m pretty sure is trying to steal the princess’s legs. Even if it turns out that the humans aren’t exactly bastions of purity (which seems likely), it feels pretty safe to say that the demons here are appropriately demonic.
