This was a bit of a mess

"She has amnesia but she will recover cleanly 100%"
"I forgot we aren't dating, we are dating right?"
Sensei mildly flirting to add ~drama~
"I rejected you, not really gonna explain why, but now I've sudden fallen for you"

The payoff just felt so super cheap. But then the premise felt cheap too so mehhh

Gotou's art is great, and sensei should be the MC of a series about solving lesbian problems

People have become way too critical of fluffy one-shots. Expecting a Shakespearean Comedy/Tragedy out of one chapter that needs to be self-contained might be a taaaaad extreme.

I always have a soft spot for the younger partner being the aggressive/active one in a relationship, so this is cute enough.

When she was hit by the car, I immediately thought "oh, is this another isekai manga?"

I skimmed through the first time, thought it seemed odd.
My second reading confirmed these feelings, despite the overall fluffiness and supporting senpai.

And why do we never see the girl's mum again after the first page despite the fact her daughter is in a hospital for crying out loud?!

People don't expect that, they expect a story where the amnesia gimmick is actually relevant to the story.

Sensei's hot, but you can't really screw up the coy, bespectacled, sexy doctor archetype. It's a classic for a reason.

Why? I mean, if you really came here for that tag, then fair enough. But it's refreshing not to have the ultra ridiculous fiction amnesia that's usually used as a plot device.
This was clearly comedic and the "amnesia" was never supposed to be the focus. The point was to get her into the hospital and cause some stir.

Personally I don't like that archetype at all, so I had to enjoy this on it's own merit~

Is it really that hard to believe that people prefer competent writing?

It honestly don't even deserve amnesia tag. Experiencing partial memory loss around time of accident after receiving a heavy trauma to the head is normal. And she remembered everything like within a hour. And even the part it took in the story wasn't that important. She simply didn't remember what other girl said and assumed she agreed to date her. The same thing could be easily achieved by her twisting her words in one of her delusions and assuming she said ok. People focus way too much on amnesia thing, when in the end, it was pretty much irrelevant to the story.

The amnesia portrayed in this story is millions of times more common than the type usually portrayed in fiction where a character permanently or semi-permanently loses all memories of anything that occurred before an incident, with no other major side effects. The cases where someone experiences very long term retrograde amnesia without also experiencing other kinds of permanent brain damage are not many.

Though I agree that it was pretty much irrelevant to the story here.

Luckily that's just an opinion and thus can be dismissed out of hand haha

When the trope is so overblown it memes itself into replacing reality and a more realistic portrayal has all the critics crawling out of the woodwork to complain it's not overblown enough.

"a grand ocean-liner of love!"
"So something that will sink"
best part right there.
