So was she protecting the MC or not? I'm still not sure if the "childhood friend" is evil or not....seems so far that the sea girl just outed her for no good reason.
Well the point of “outing her for no good reason” is because Shiori wants to alienate her from her friend who would otherwise have stood in the way of Shiori preparing Hinako to be eaten. If Miko is protecting Hinako then that’s just as much of a problem for our mermaid girl as if Miko was trying to eat her. Remember that Shiori is really really not doing this out of the kindness of her heart, and if anything she’s closer to the main antagonist.
It would be nice if Miko was protecting her, they end up as a couple, and fight off Shiori in my opinion.
There are a few ways this could go, and I'm excited to see what happens and in what timeframe it does.
I don't know Miko's motivation, so I'm with Shiori on not trusting her. At least Shiori is upfront about what she wants.
Is Miko really just "protecting" Hinako out of goodwill or is Miko also waiting for her to be at her most delicious? There's no such thing as a free lunch, after all.
Will Miko or Shiori die a horrible death at the other's hand? Will they both off each other, after which Hinako "naturally" commits suicide, having lost the last two "people" she was somewhat close to?
