"Fudanshi" would depend on "fudan" being interpretable as something funny in this context. But the most common matches are 普段 regular, 不断 uninterrupted.

冗男子 joudanshi? Joudan written as 冗談 means kidding, and 冗 has a connotation of unnecessary/superfluous/redundant which kinda fits a guy reading yuri. But my Japanese isn't at the level where you can invent words...

I don't think fudan would need to be any kind of wordplay. Fujoshi (as I understand it) is basically an ironic term based on how female otakus and particularly BL-fans are seen as weird and abnormal in Japanese society, hence the use of 腐, which basically translates to "rotten".

That's why I personally think just substituting the 女 for 男 would be enough, making it fudanshi/腐男子. Then the original meaning would still be there, as in "rotten" men who enjoy seeing girls hold hands. But in the end it really doesn't matter anyway, fujoshi has only become a thing because people actually use it. If nobody uses fudanshi, joudanshi, himedanshi, or whatever, these words will not actually have any meaning to anybody

Anyone have impressions on the latest Animal Crossing game they could share? I've been on the fence about getting it. It looks... good? Maybe? I haven't gotten very deep into an AC game since the GC one, despite having played all of them since. I'm playing the 3DS one right now and more or less enjoying it, but it still feels a bit empty. I turn on the game, dig up fossils, find the money rock, fish and catch bugs to sell and... not a whole lot else. I haven't felt like there's a good reason to interact with the villagers ever since they started pushing the multiplayer/online aspect starting in Wild World.

TL;DR is New Horizons any better solo than the other online-multiplayer AC games, or am I just gonna have to play some more Harvest Moon style games instead?

Also, if I'm just gonna have to find some Harvest Moon style games, any recommendations? I've already played Stardew Valley (and found it very disappointing, actually. You can't even talk to villagers more than once per day. Not even to repeat their dialogue or something like that, they just become completely unresponsive.) and my favorite Harvest Moon game is Rune Factory 3 (RF4 was fine, the combat was way better than 3's, but most of the characters were pretty bland), though I do enjoy the "normal" games as well.

^ I got a second hand recommendation from a Harvest moon fanatic. He never played an Animal crossing game before this one, but now he clocked around 300h and he doesn't pay for online. I checked lol

Watched the new MK movie...it's alright. First half was fun, second half kinda dropped the ball. Movie OC™ was kinda lame but he's inoffensive except when he interrupts the Sub x Scorpion fight. Mileena's make up was pretty bad. Kano was very fun.

Stuff Got the diagnosis and currently taking happy pills. I tried to rage intentionally because bad personality, but can't do it haha. Temporary fix but eh.

My Time at Portia was pretty fun.

So I've fallen down a sort of rabbit hole of watching videos of people playing Dancerush Stardom. It's a rhythm game in the same vein as DDR, Stepmania, PIU etc. but the really interesting part is that it also has an AR camera that adds in visual effects.. I've just been spending the last hour watching videos of it.

This one is my favorite so far, but there's loads of great videos out there. (This is my second favorite.)

I might have to wear braces soon. Never too old, I guess?

You just need to train yourself to only eat dark chocolate. If the chocolate is >80% its health benefits apparently outweigh the negatives. Or at least that's what I think I read somewhere, but it's a good enough excuse for me
