Rereading the first chapter is like “oh right, she had a brother.” Completely forgot he exists. I wonder if he’ll come back up later or if it was a one time thing.

It makes sense for Sora to feel awkward with their relationship. Ayaka -despite being obviously in love with her- hasn't really said it directly.
Add the reason why their relationship started in the first place and you get this weird "are we really something? Or is it just messing around 'till you get the recommendation" vibe...
