Jesus, I wasn't expecting this chapter out of nowhere. I didn't think we'd get the other side of that little flash we saw of why Kei cut her hair but, I gotta say, don't think she was wrong to run off in that moment. At that point Kei didn't seem ready at all.

But as deep as it was, I didn't think it was sad, just something to set the tone for what's to come.

Wow, what a chapter. And yeah, I really love the detail of her right eye being shown for the first time in that last panel, it feels very deliberate and meaningful.

Pretty sure this was mentioned a long time ago, but for those who missed it, it's just because of her hair always being over it. There's no real reason, and she doesn't have heterochromia or anything, as evidenced here https://dynasty-scans.com/chapters/school_zone_ch00#2

But if we want to believe that there's meaning to it, is like the author saying "this side of me that I've been hiding" maybe? Is like... very dramatic or romantic that way, no?

Middel school kei looks so cute with long hair aside from that I really liked this chapter I now see Yokoe in a different perspective and I like her even more she deserves happiness.
