Not gonna lie i did notice the depressing undertones but I wasn't expecting pain/ sadistic type stuff.. its like both of them enjoy each other's suffering or pain and get off by it ? At the start it felt like an interesting manga now it feels a completely dark and weird fetish ? Lol

Nah, this isn't sadism. In actual BDSM practice, you don't hurt people without their explicit consent (and there wasn't any of that in the story). Besides, you don't cause permanent injury to your partner's body either, even if they ask you to. I don't see this as S/M at all. It's probably a metaphor for abusive behavior.

Edit: Still can't tell what happened to MC's back. It does seem to suggest that she cut her own wings (along with her partner's?), or maybe those are scars and MC's wings were cut before? Weird stuff.

It's weird, she doesn't seem to have anything back there in the bath scene in chapter one so it has to be recent. And all the talk of "being normal" implies that she isn't in some way, which supports the theory of cutting her own wings. But on the other hand the art seems to imply its due to the angel's nails breaking the skin?

Also would this story qualify for the not lizard tag? Or is that too spoilery? ;)

Those are wounds from how strongly the angel's gripping her. That or the angel injured herself and is bleeding onto MC. MC did just cut off her wings so it'd make sense for her to have been holding onto her in such immense pain that she gouged the MC's back open like that. In the rare shots that are shown of MC's back earlier in the story, MC definitely didn't have any scars at the base of her neck.

MC being a former angel herself also doesn't make narrative sense as it's clear from the first part she was truly skeptical about the girl being able to grow wings and surprised at her supernatural characteristics of not needing food, sleep. etc.

It's clear that what MC did was a direct result of being afraid the angel would leave and so she literally cut off her wings. I'm more curious as to what she meant by being a normal human.

The whole thing was cought on an audio recording. They played a small sample in the documentary. I got the same chills from the panels of the bloody feathers falling as I got listening to that recording.

This is dark. If I were the main character I’d be happy for the angel to take flight if that is her wish. I’d be sad if she leaves me, but deep down I’d be happy for her as long as she fulfills her desire to return to wherever she came from. MC is too selfish :/

The sequence when she's growing her wings is so beautiful, it looked a little scary at first, I felt the tension but the last drawing of her with her wings fully grown gave me a such a feeling of release.

I feel so sad knowing that she will never able to fly with them... :(
