Yeah, but nobody likes to hear their country being criticized by foreigners. It's a recipe for a flamewar.

"America" is not a "country", it is simply an economic union of several warlords. It's federal laws only exist to empower whichever warlord is in power currently, and they have no qualms of allowing mass civilian casualties like 9/11 to occur to personally enrich the holdings of warlords like Bush and his close personal friends the Bin Laden group. Even within this shared culture of seeing civilians as expendable routinely the agents of power in these so called "United" "States" will annotate sex workers as subhuman, the most common police annotation to a sex worker's death is "NHI - No Human Involved".
So to say that any derision of such American imperialist thought here is well deserved is an understatement. A person willingly associating with America and spreading their ideals of violence and discrimination against sex workers simply for expressing their bodily autonomy deserves no more quarter than an American imperialist using violence and discrimination against the people of it's held territories of Ryuku and Iraq.

The people complaining about how amoral they feel the topic is after specifically clicking on a story tagged 'gay for pay' are causing the discord in these comments. I hope they know that.

It's literally looking for a fight, like that one person who would click on every single BDSM story to whine about how evil BDSM is.

If the only reason you're clicking on a tag is to complain how much you hate it, you can probably skip that story.

Very interesting. I wasn't sure if I'd like it, because gay for pay stories tend to be a miss for me but I'm glad I gave this story a shot. I really liked the first chapter and the journey of sexual exploration and confidence that the protag embarks on. Depending on how the story progresses I might get really into this manga, but I've read other gay for pay stories that end up building a large cast of meaningless characters for the protag to have sex with and that's not my thing. But I like the mangaka's other works so I think I'll like this as well. It's an interesting premise and I feel like the characters have already been set up really well.

I don't understand why some people are against this, but you do you.

Like porn, prostitution is a complex subject, especially for women.

Is it empowering or demeaning? Your take.

I think in actually it was always supposed to be neither. It's another profession. People use resources they possess to make money and subsequently make a living. No different than something like an artist who was either born with or learned to paint. Some people do it because they're passionate about it, others use it as a source of earning.

But in the current political climate it is okay to view it as empowering because some of the people who find it demeaning or dirty (which isn't a problem in itself, they can choose not to partake in it if they don't like it), use that as a reason to discriminate and to justify discrimination of people who partake in sex work.

And it is easier to change these people's or their children's views that sex work doesn't have to be demeaning than it is to stop someone from discriminating against something they find dirty or 'less than' themselves.

And yes, it is a lot more complex than this, but this is how much I could fit in here without ranting on forever.

Personally, it's not for me. But if you want to be a sex worker, go ahead. If you need to be sex worker to pay the bills, do what you need to. That doesn't give me or anyone a reason to discriminate against you. Whatever it is, as long as you are of age, consent to it and don't hurt anyone else, I really don't care what you do and won't respect you any less.

Those manipulators, traffickers, coercers, etc. can go die off a cliff.

This is why people cannot take your countrymen seriously, they deny reality when it is inconvenient.

You left contact with reality when you started talking about warlords. The US has problems but you're trivializing actual warlords for shock value.

The Bush and Cheney families are actual warlords, and there are very few whose impact compared to them would not be trivial.

A) I have no idea what the actual fuck kind of definition of "warlord" you're working with here but it sure as shit isn't the generally accepted meaning.

B) You're actively trying to get your whole comment chain in this thread purged with fire, soon as the mods notice, by being so wildly off topic - any topic here so far - it's not even real aren't you.

What? Bush Sr. was the CIA director during the ICA and Afghanistan Regan Doctrine conflict, he funded and commanded the Mujahideen and the Contras while skirting the authority of Afghanistan; Iran; the USA; Iran; and many other African; Eastern European; South American; and Middle Eastern nations using forces loyal to him or people he controlled before their own governments. He fits the definition of a warlord better than most anyone that ever lived. Halliburton, Blackwater, and other PMCs exist explicitly as corporate forces that match that description.

I'm simply stating the fact that your culture of hatred against sex workers is directly linked to the major players of the forever war and foreign and domestic terror.

HAHAHA no. Aside from the quite hilarious cavalcade of factual errors here that's still not what the term refers to anyway.

Yeah, uh, so apparently you haven't exactly been paying attention? Because the discussion thus far should have made it rather apparent I'm not American...

It fits the definition, they don’t stop being warlords just because they’re rich and white. Whatever hyper-specific group you think it refers to is not "trivialized" by these far worse warlords being labeled among them.

If people want to lay out anti-sex work bait they should be prepared to be blamed for 9/11.
It is the only natural escalation.

You still refuse to state how these people who fit the exact definition of warlord are, in your mind, not warlords. Is it that they get invited to Davos? They fit all the other characteristics of having military forces loyal to them above any nation that they use to exert subnational control over regions to their personal benefit. I fail to see how the leaders of individual Mujahedin are warlords and yet the commander of many Mujahedin is not a warlord.
