Pinkish rocks, to be sure. Not too pink, though.

Her photo of her mom that she keeps on her phone is from behind while she's working.

That's seriously rough. Like, either that's all she could get, or that's what she thought best represented who her mother is to her.

You have no idea how much I simultaneously like and dislike everything that could've possibly potentially been implied by this.

This is probably my top series. Always puts a smile on my face.

Am I alone in this? When ever we find our lead has a distant relationship with their parents I want to throw an arm around the parents, point at their offspring and with watery eyes scream "but dat's yo bebe!" Bonus if my intervention alone solves all their issues. ^________^

Well, the “mostly absent but not dead or actively estranged parents” thing often isn’t about their relationship with the main character, but just a way for authors to clear the plot decks so the young characters can do things and go places without constantly getting (or worrying about getting) parental permission.

But yeah, when it’s actually a thing that matters, it’s sad.

See, there you go—totally not what QT is looking for.

Romantically, sure, but I could totally see QT and Dwayne Johnson being besties. He's just so goddamned personable.

Welp. Guess it's time for another screenshot streak.

Ok. I've missed this this series for a long damn time. Can someone tell me, what happened to the pink-hair girl arc?

SJ's fangirl? It is a mystery. But in practice that thread seems to have been one of the victims of the reshuffling necessitated by Emperor Xi going full puritan Socialist Realism.

Was referring to the invariably reactionary cultural policing authoritarian rulers regardless of nominal ideology are universally prone to. The PRC hasn't been "socialist" outside formal boilerplate nobody believes in for decades now.

It looks like Mo Xaionan's plot threadd was dropped in mid-gallop, so what we know at this point is just:

Mo begged SJ not to go meet QT,

SunJing was visibly bummed the next time she saw Qiu Tong, but got over it as soon as she saw her bae.

Mo was visibly upset with Sun Jing the next time we saw her.

All signs point to "she confessed, was shot down, and is now hurting over it." But the plot just kind of jumped tracks to Sun Jing and Qiu Tong dating and being flirty, possibly because the author needed the WAFF injection to deal with an oppressive government. (Or maybe as a fuck you to her publisher, who apparently wouldn't publish her book because it was explicitly romantic?)

Yeah. I noticed and figured that was probably the reason. As a by-product it may have made me all the more curious about parents.

i know i'm late on this but damn! i was wondering about her since we last saw her. i would hope to see some resolution or closure for Mo at least. but that may never happen. :(
