I guess everyone hated the "What if XXX is a guy" trope, i kinda liked it myself

Nico's reaction to Nozomi saying that seems to be payoff here - that feeling of so close yet so far. What she said was basically a confession with a rejection baked in; that she had no response to Nico's unqualified confession is what seals the hurt.

I should make a "to be avoided" list so I don't accidentally read e.g. this one again
