Honestly, Tomko looked rattled at the end of the chapter; I thInk her group would sooner be worried about her and a bit cross with Ucchi, though once things settle down, I can totally see this happening.

^^^ But the makeup cliffhanger and this one are magnitudes of importance apart. The makeup cliffhanger was an unresolved gag. The Uchi plot thread is a major one that has lasted many chapters and developed over time. There may be a hopscotch situation in the next chapter, but that's a basic element of plot continuity for the series creators.
