No. I always had the distinct impression a lot of people dislike it because they misunderstood the point and genre of the story, personally.

No, love. It was one of my favorite reads while it was being released. Calling that travesty of an ending "terrible" would be a very generous understatement though.

I kinda expected him to dress up differently ... I wonder why ...

The title kinda alarmed me...but the story turned out to be so cute and funny

No, if I had to place it on a scale of liking or hating it, I would say I liked it. Once it was all said and done, I would have loved to see it play out a bit differently though. All in all, I love Kobayashi's works. She's got my interests down pretty well.
