Nitroplus Blasterz: Heroines Infinite Duel is a 2D fighting game out now on steam if anyone cares. It has a lesbian playable character from one of Nitroplus' visual novels "Tokyo Necro" who is actually one of the two protagonists of that game.

How is Tokyo Necro anyway, anyone who's actually played it? I commend it for having an actual lesbian heroine, but how important is she anyway? I can find like basically no information about this VN anywhere, but it seems that she's sharing the spotlight with some dude, so is it an "alternate between characters every act" kinda thing or a "choose who you want to play as in the beginning" kinda thing? Also, apparently it has lots of fucked up stuff in it... so how fucked up is the fucked up stuff...? I mean, I won't exactly be surprised if it's super fucked up considering this is from the company that made Saya no Uta (that's pretty much their only VN that I know, but I'd say it's enough...), but, yeah, still.

don't know about its narrative, but CGs are online. But they seem to be 2 different MCs as their own characters.

or

some gore here and there, an opened-skull-exposed-brain getting poked by machines on a conscious girl.

shock-value aside, it has awesome art, some lesbian scenes, some rape scenes, torture rape porn, futa rape, a loli? some het.

Looks like the female MC can have her yuri ending, with rings n all.

It has an all-ages version too I believe, so you don't have to consider those unsavory scenes to be canon or relevant in any way.

I also must add that while there's plenty of special effects and good art (minus the questionable proportions for female characters) in this visual novel, their 3D models are pretty awful. Plus points for effort though.

I dunno if this has been asked here before but I figured its a good thread for it - if there are any Atelier game series fans reading - how have the last 5 or so been ?

Which are the best - from both a game-play and a yuri perspective? Atelier Totori was the last one I played and I want to pick up one of the newer ones. Any recommendations?

Didn't get to finish Atelier Sophie since I got busy while I was playing it, but Sophie and Plachta can have moments (YMMV). It also helps that the limited edition art of Atelier Sophie is an exact mirror of the Nights of Azure one, with Arnice and Lilysse being a direct parallel to Sophie and Plachta.

Nice to know that I can hopefully safely remove all the het stuff and all the unsavory stuff with the all-ages version. And 3D models, huh? I don't think I've ever seen a VN with 3D models before (granted, I don't read many), but I can't imagine that they'd look too good in any VN.

You know, for some reason, I thought this would be a VN with an actual decent story, but after looking at these CGs, well, I kinda have my doubts... you know what they say about assumptions though...

It was recently announced that Nights of Azure and Atelier Sophie are also coming to PC. Fingers crossed that they're both working at 60 fps.

They'll be ported by Koei Tecmo, I'm not confident at all, frankly... Here's hoping they'll do a better job than usual, but I'm not holding my breath.

New Yooka Laylee trailer

Can't wait to play it. Odd how empty some of those levels were, you'd have a few objects here and there and just flat floors otherwise. Hopefully the world itself feels a bit more alive.

And oh god, tell me you can shut off those voices. They're awful!

Theres probably gonna be a volume setting for voices, like every game should have.

Just finished replaying Fate/Extra on my vita in preparation for Extella, and oh wow, I forgot how gay this game got thanks to the exact same writing for both female and male protagonist. I love how it's impossible for the female protagonist to be straight because of that and how every npc in-game either assumes you're a guy or a lesbian with their dialogue. It's also pretty convenient that all female characters in-game that develops feelings for the protagonist are canonically bisexual.

The Soul Set visual novel so far has been good. If I were to give an unfairly short description of it, I would call it a poor man's Zero Escape game with dating sim elements since in order to progress in some routes you have to obtain information from another. For those wanting to play this game only for the yuri, the routes dedicated to male characters needn't be romantic.

A small bit of warning for those people who are sensitive in terms of yuri, Soul Set's Shira is actually a guy who just likes to cross-dress. The game specifically mentions there are no changes in gender identity; he just likes to wear frilly clothes. It's nowhere near something like the Ladykiller VN where there was no way to opt out (recently patched in though), since your character can cut the romance short after finding out.

Another warning that I feel like is actually worth watching out for would be that the pursuable character Shirr is an inexperienced lesbian who was tempted by this other male character who made her an offer to spare her life if she slept with him, but at a later time. He supposedly didn't know she was a lesbian and the protagonist (who knows the male character) presumes he just made the offer solely to mess with her head by planting the idea in her and would consider it a "success" if she ended up going to him in the end by herself. Her angst in the romance part of her route is that she was having an "existential crisis" when she realized she was almost looking forward to sleeping with him and that she felt really relieved when she immediately developed a crush on the protagonist after meeting her for the first time because being attracted to girls is the norm for her. To provide more context, Shirr is shown to like being dominated and I guess that might have something to do with her reaction towards him. I'm personally not very comfortable with this one but your mileage may vary.

Oh yes, gameplay wise my only real complaint about Soul Set is that it doesn't distinguish the unimportant choices with the important ones that alters the route - which results in a lot of back and forth. It's definitely much more tedious than the Zero Escape games in terms of gathering information to help yourself progress and get different endings.

Atelier Meruru is pretty gay, more than Totori.
But Ayesha... Is pretty bad. Both in the yuri and female characters aspect.
There are scenes with no reason to exist besides saying two girls can't marry.
Ayesha says all the time that she shouldn't be doing things like fighting because she's a girl.
There's one girl whose plot is about giving up a job she loves to go home, marry and have children... And that's put like the right thing to do.

I don't know what happened, since the previous trilogy was full of good moments with cool female characters. There's also het leanings with pretty much every female character.
Plot was also too serious for my taste and most dialogues were boring rather than funny.
Gameplay-wise, I thought it was too confuse. Too much events that gives no room for do anything else (I spend some hours doing nothing but read at times).
Still haven't played to other ones (building courage to start Escha), but I heard it does get better from Shallie until now.

Sad thing that Ayesha and her sister have a cute relationship. There's even one scene where they get possessive of each other because they're jealous that a guy is hinting on them. That's the best scene in all the game, actually.

Maaan, i really hated the Nier Automata demo when i first played it, especially after fiding out that Hard Mode completely strips you of a lockon feature
Fortunately it's one of those games to me anyway that is a lot better when you know what you're getting into so i had quite some fun the second time that boss is still ass though, really glad that i'm keeping my purchase plans for it 'cause that soundtrack and that ass is too good to go to waste

Just finished Highway Blossoms and, wow, was that a great read! I absolutely loved the Midwest setting and the adult protagonists... well, adult compared to most yuri anime/manga protagonists at least. My opinions on the TRIO fluctuated a lot throughout the thing... at first, I was intrigued, then I got annoyed, then they caught my interest again, especially with the Mariah/Amber drinking session! It gave her a lot of depth which I hope Dusty Trails capitalizes on. Her outfit is still pretty ridiculous but, eh, I don't live in the Midwest, maybe some women actually do wear things like that? It was getting a bit ridiculous how much they randomly bumped into each other but oh well, they were interesting characters. I thought the sex scenes were tastefully done, even if they were probably written by a guy (I have no idea whether this Syon person is male or female). I guess it lacks the little things, but they still talked about consent and having no clue what the hell you're doing, which I thought was nice. I have to admit that I was a bit disturbed that Amber already had sex with girls when she was only 19... and then she said she hadn't been in a relationship in a while ever since Gramps got sick... eh, I guess she couldn't have been that young, but I still disapprove of underage sex. Yeah, I read 'em all the time here on Dynasty, but... it's different when it's porn and when it's an actual story, you know? That's what I think, at least. Amber and Marina were great characters and made a very cute couple... I'm a sucker for tomboys and I love cynic/idealist relationships. They counterbalance each other, you know? I thought there was a bit more to Marina given how she said she was used to disappointments at some point, but I think we learned enough about her. More's always welcome though! I just loved how Cassi fell for Amber within 30 seconds of meeting her. Such a chick magnet... Male chick magnets are just male power fantasies, but female chick magnets are... just female power fantasies. I'm okay with the latter though. Anyhow, it was a great read and I definitely recommend it to anyone who hasn't picked it up already. Maybe I'll even pick up Human Reignition Project even though I don't usually read het stuff... I liked Katawa Shoujo though so maybe HRT will be good too. Might as well list some cons though... THE CONSTANT TYPOS AND WEIRDLY WORDED SENTENCES! Yeah, I'm overreacting cause they weren't that bad or frequent, but, still... That's pretty much all the cons I can think of though.

Objectively speaking, I would recommend Highway Blossoms as well for that price tag. As for me though, that ending was far too cliche for my liking. I was seeing things coming a mile away and for someone like me where the ending can make or break something, this particular ending left a bad taste in my mouth; pretty sure it's the reason I took a long break from OELVN's for a while.

I also didn't expect to get miffed at those sex scenes. They made sense for the character, but they were pretty tasteless moves by the MC - especially the first one.

If you're talking about the driving like a maniac to get to Marina before she leaves scene, then, yeah, that was really cliched. It really did make me groan out loud since that shows up in... everything. Still, it had its funny moments like Tess rolling around on the floor nonchalantly and poor Joseph hitting his head and the preceding scene with Mariah made it worth it, in my opinion. You know, I kind of did expect some, you know, backlash or whatever against Amber and Marina from some random people. This is the Midwest after all... which, to be fair, I know nothing about, so maybe it is pretty accepting of LGBT people? The closest things are Amber being scared that Marina will think she's gross (that's solved really quickly though when it becomes evident that she reciprocates...) and that sleazebag portrait artist guy. Not that it's necessary, of course, but everyone that had a picture in the VN had no problem at all with them. Well, I think Cassi kinda did, but that's completely different... I guess they kinda addressed it with Amber mentioning the people glancing at them, but nothing really substantial happened... of course, it's not really necessary in this VN, but it just felt a bit curious that there was nothing at all.

Well, just went through Goofball Mode in Highway Blossoms. Pretty funny stuff though I didn't understand any of that financial stuff. I do have a few questions though: What the heck does "She thrust her Owen into my Wilson" mean? I know that Owen Wilson is an actor, but I don't understand how he's related at all... also, who's that blond girl who showed up at the concert? Is it a Human Reignition Projection cameo or something?
