I don't think Hanzo and Genji can be weeaboos. A weeaboo is a person who appropriates Japanese culture, while Hanzo and Genji are actually from Japan.

That is a myth. She was conceptualize as transsexual from the start. Fans just become so interested in her because of the controversy that Capcom never bothered to make a clear statement, because it was more profitable this way. And whenever they were asked if Poison is a man they usually answered with "maybe, maybe not". She is canonically trans, but because there was a misunderstanding during localization people become really interested in her to the point where she actually became a playable character and regular part of the roster. It got to the point where making it clear one way or another doesn't give Capcom anything, because the mystery behind her gender was what make her popular in the first place. My source.
