And this is one of the reasons Kazuma Kowo is my favorite mangaka alongside Otsu Hiyori.

I absolutely love the pacing in this one, of course that being the whole point of the story. A lot of manga just doesn't hit those notes so well (sorry grammar nerds, the tenses are probably a mess in that sentence).

Not sure, but I believe the end notes for Sayonara Folklore and Pure Water Adolescence implies it's a guy. But it's kinda vague so I wouldn't take that as for sure.

Hmm, I thought the end of Pure Water Adolescence pretty strongly implied Kowo was a woman. Could only draw guys --> implies yaoi/shounen-ai -> implies fujoshi.

As for this story itself, I'm not really too fond of the type of attitude where someone tries too hard to hide their true self. At least, to the extent of lying or saying something you don't truly feel. So yeah, the MC troubled me a bit in this story, but as you guys said, the pacing (and reveal at the end) were very good. Kowo is also one of the top mangaka whose works I am super excited to read.

This was a very intelligent and witty one shot. I don't believe the girl was trying to hide who she is by telling the other she wants a boyfriend. On the other hand, I think she was very aware that the other girl shared her feelings and wanted to get it out of her. Apparently the black haired girl always uses some type of banter in her responses, so I think the lighter hair chacter purposely admitted her feelings in a way to mess with the other.
