Because even a bit of yuri is better than no yuri at all ? It was a cute and fun moment in a manga, what's wrong with enjoying it ?

I'm more annoyed at the people who keep claiming "yuri is dead !" all other dynasty like it's a good thing, frankly. I come to this site to enjoy mangas and images about girls flirting with each other without having people raining down on the parade. I'd expect other boards to do that, but lately, it feels that this one supposedly yuri board is much more of a "nope, no yuri there, you're totally imagining it !" than most of the other boards I frequent.

These fluffy slice of life with girls being cutely gay aren't taking relationships between girls seriously at all.

It wouldn't be that much aggravating if there wasn't so much of them lately. It's multiplying like rabbits. It's like the only kind of yuri Japan can produce these days is either "so cute, but it's just a phase", or "dramatic toxic relationship".

"Bloom into you" is a breath of fresh air in all of these.

I don't mind that some people enjoy the CGDCT SOL genre, but I find this trend boring and depressing. Even Stretch was better than that, because at least there was some *tension*.

It does get tagged as yuri on the magazine's site, but it's mostly just them being basically a married couple. Tbh it just reflects the way yuri is used in Japan (a wide range from レズ "lesbian" hardcore porn to fluffy subtext stuff about girls being friends)...

Even in Japan fans always argue what yuri is. I heard that now they're trying to separate yuri from GL (Girls' Love). That yuri will be something like this manga or any other where there's nothing romantic or physical between girls. Just girls admiring each other or very close friendship with fanservice (hand-holding, "dates") here and there. GL will be all about romantic feelings like Girl Friends or Bloom Into You.

And yet, you have the exact attitude you're criticizing here. A little girl says she wants a wife and your exact reaction here is not only to say "it's just a joke, no way she might actually mean it" but also criticize people that enjoyed that scene. :/

If you don't like those kind of manga, simply don't read it and don't pester people who actually enjoy them. It's pretty much the same as going on a paired doujin to complain about how it's not the pair you like and people should stop shipping them. ^^;

So basically, I'm forbidden to criticize something I'm not fan of, just in case I'd offend someone who is. And where exactly did I criticize people or said them what to, or not to do?

This chapter was pretty damn gay. They really, really must be SUPER FRIENDS.

Again, my sole issue with this series is that it is sold as yuri. I wouldn't care if it was just sold as cute girls, like most those other series are. So mostly I'm just mad at it for being promised, by both the publisher and the book stores, something different than the actual product.

I also found it pretty boring and just uninteresting in general, but that's more a matter of taste.

Why subtext? They're already married....

You seem to be forgetting that Sakurako often does "wife" things, from a Japanese standpoint. Cooking, cleaning, making sure Kasumi (taking the "lazy husband" role) gets things done, etc. It's nice to see it and makes great subtext, but to call it confirmation is a hell of a, well, stretch.

For what it's worth Shima, I'm really enjoying this series. I may wish from the bottom of my heart for them to actually get together, but even if no development ever happens, I still find it really cute and relaxing :) Thanks for uploading!

I'll go a ahead and board the "y'all need to calm the hell down" train. There's no reason to get so bent out of shape over a series that's this chill.

Nezchan, it's possible the sloth isn't into girls, but the other one? It's just like Swap <==> Swap. She basically does gay things all the time.
