Also, you guys totally read my mind doing the shiritori in Japanese. I always thought the kanmuri was more like a crown than a cap, hence Toyota naming their mid-size appliance, er, sedan, the "Camry" after previously calling it Crown and Corona.

"Headgear" is probably the best word for it but ain't nobody got space for that :p

To me "crown" evokes images of e.g. the Crown Jewels and is probably not the right choice of words (even if it might be technically correct?).

Anyway, there are plenty of authors who take these kind of simple name, it's not that rare

Yukiko's probably not as common as I was thinking but I was thinking of both 幸子　and 雪子。

When I looked it up it wasn't as common as I thought even for 20-somethings, but i did find out there are some yu-ki-kos as well: 由喜子 and 由貴子

Madonna Ciccone's mother's name was Madonna as well.

IMO it does (wait until you meet Sakurako's little sister...) but as I've said before, I wouldn't be opposed to making it "yuri subtext" if that makes people feel better. :p

It does get tagged as yuri on the magazine's site, but it's mostly just them being basically a married couple. Tbh it just reflects the way yuri is used in Japan (a wide range from レズ "lesbian" hardcore porn to fluffy subtext stuff about girls being friends)...

It IS sold as a yuri manga, but honestly, there's barely even any subtext in it, and never any sign of anything the slightest bit overt.

"Shoujo ai" is a Western fabricated term that, in Japan, refers basically to child pornography. Don't use it. Please.

Also, in the interests of stopping the constant complaining about the yuri tag I've changed it to 'subtext'. I hope you enjoy reading the manga whether or not it goes romantic enough for your tastes!
