Jup, I can confirm the pickles. And you don't have to pour the melted raclette cheese over something. But I recommend doing it, because it makes it more delicous. (I personally recommend potatoes.)
So except of the pickles and a little bit confusing raclette with fondue they got raclette right. (Raclette is never melted in a pot. That's fondue.)

An anime series from the 70s based on a Swiss children's novel. It's really cute and captures the spirits of the alps, even though it is quite romanticized. Either way, the cheese on bread scene from page 12 was a direct reference to it. The black bar doesn't really do much in "concealing her identity" :)
