I think I'm done sleeping on this manga, that chapter hit like a freight train

This manga is a genuine masterpiece as usual.

Fucking hell. I. I don't even know what to say. I think that is the first time I have cried while actively reading something. It is just so real. I know that feeling. I have dealt with that feeling before. I can't even put into words why it is so perfectly done, it just is. Hit me right in the heart.

Sometimes this manga makes me feel a heavy heat. like it's hard to breathe but my nerves are on fire at the same time.

it's rare for a manga to make me stop and stare at my past like this. man. i think over time, our burdens just get heavier. but being seen like this, grounded like this, somehow makes it feel lighter all the same.

... I'm SO glad she met Haruyo as her "onee sama" instead of... you know...

I love the imagery of Haruyo goofily climbing over the railing. I couldn’t help but smile, it’s such a great moment of levity.
It hardly registered when I first read through the chapter, but the margins of the rest of the pages being completely black makes the last few pages seem almost impossibly bright. As if Haruyo is what pulled Kasumi out of the darkness and into the light.

It was really nice symbolism how haruyo walks into her suicidal thoughts, and rather than changing the whole landscape she just shifts the perspective. She's no longer sitting on the roof contemplating jumping, just being a bit reckless while enjoying the view. Not wondering how far the fall is, but watching the clouds pass. The grief is still there, but it's easier to live with since haruyo entered her life

The word "Peak" gets tossed around a lot, but for once it genuinely applies here.

This is peak.

One interesting thing I noticed was that every time Kasumi goes to bed, she thinks of Karin. Whether directly like here or indirectly like her dream of Haruyo in chapter 13. Maybe I'm projecting my own experiences here, but it's like she has to keep herself busy with life because the moment she rests, she will inevitably think of Karin.

On mangadex, I saw a comment talking about while it ends on a hopeful note, Kasumi still has a long way to go. She's still sitting on the edge, she's still grasping the brooch to ward off Karin's ghost. In my opinion, if there's going to be a happy ending for this manga, it won't be complete without Kasumi and Haruyo both seriously reckoning with Kasumi's issues. Again I may be projecting, but they feel like they run deeper than what just a middle-schooler's cheeriness can fix. Of course, I now have absolute faith in Igarashi Jun and these lovebirds to make a satisfying ending.

I was worried that this series may become edgy for the sake of being edgy with the boxcutter couple, but these past three arcs have proven me so, so wrong. There's just so much genuine emotion and love put into this. I feel such a newfound appreciation for yuri, flowers, and even manga as a whole. It's even affecting how I act in real life; I'm catching myself making suicidal jokes more often (edit: as in I'm catching myself when I make them, not that I'm making them more often). This series is truly a masterpiece.

Another incredible chapter. Igarashi Jun really came out of nowhere to become one of my favorite mangaka.

Especially when this one couldn't exist without a deep love for its predecessors like those

A seriously unbelievably devastating and beautiful set of chapters these last few have been. I've found myself tearing up whenever I read this work... Igarashi Jun I need you to have all the flowers and money in the world.

That went way darker for Kasumi herself than expected, and is still affecting her way more than we thought so far...

I'm a long way from those dark youthful feelings now, been happy and pretty comfortable with myself for a long time. This managed to bring me back to a visceral memory of those times, without pissing me off. Impressive stuff.
