Have you seen the Bee Train stuff? Noir, Madlax, El Cazador de la Bruja. They all feature two women as main characters with relationships that range from "barely even subtext" in Madlax to "all but text" in El Cazador, plots that have their heads stuck up their ass to a varying extent, and really good music.

I like Madlax the most out of the three despite what people say of the ending. Noir and Cazador felt like 26 episodes was way way too much.

The lead characters in Noir did not do it for me. On the other hand, Cazador had the better leads of the three and most progress during the anime but the secondary characters were mediocre and it had a tad too much humour for my liking.

Madlax had decent main characters, a great variety of side characters and I felt like the music fit the anime better, than say Noir. Noir is an amazing soundtrack on it's own but I feel like Madlax's is superior to support the visuals.

Edit: a music or a "what are you listening to" thread would be cool.

I started Horizon now. They may have their first yuri moment in episode 10 but I started shipping them not even 5 minutes into the show. Which coincidentally is the first time they shop up.

Noir has an amazing soundtrack. I haven't watched the whole thing, but it is pretty subtexty as I recall.

I watched all, very cool anime, but some episodes gets really boring... but then, the climax!! the last 3 or 4 episodes are epic!!!! totally worth the time :') also I heard that is coming back in bluray with few new aditions... Good time to give it a try.

I can't honestly say, I hit my flashback limit in Noir episode 1 and just kind of gave up and listened to the soundtrack by itself.

Yeah El Cazador could and probably should have been like 18 episodes at most, and could have worked pretty well as a single 13-episode run. Bee Train was really into the 26-episode format even though it almost always hurt them.

Also yeah yo if you have any interest in anything shonen or punch-y Dio's World starts next week. It's one of the most iconic fights in manga and extremely cool and you should watch it!!

I'm worried about the poor Ayaya (Kin'iro), she can't even stay close to Youko anymore, and she knows what's going on deep inside but doesn't understand it.. (That scene in Mcdonald). Gambare Ayayayayaya... Keep fighting!

I finished the two seasons and rated them 7 and 6, I haven't watched one of those sexual harassement = humor animes in a long time so it was kinda hard to ignore and annoying. The lead in general was pretty annoying but after you get used to him he's just kinda there so that was okay.

That comparison is kind of weird, since the number of pages in a book varies from edition to edition. A more worthwhile comparison is that it's a few times longer than The Wheel of Time

I don't get it, the lyrics think they're thrash, the vocals think some kind of metalcore and the instruments are too generic and boring to lean one way or the other.

As a side note, the lyrics aren't as bad as basically anything from AxCx (the x's are censoring), try 'I lit your baby on fire'.

The discussion about Monogatari in the other thread made me realize that I should recommend it here for the yuri. It's a harem series with a yuri side character, Kanbaru, introduced in the first season. She has a unrequited cursh on the MCs main love interest and doesn't show up all that often in story arcs that aren't about her.
The show in general is definitely not worth watching for the yuri but it's worth watching for being awesome. It's a harem series and I still rated every season except for one 10, so... you know.

The real yuri happens in Hanamonogatari between Numachi and Kanbaru.

The Hanamonogatari arc focuses on those two and the harem MC only shows up in the last episode. It's not subtext, it's straight up yuri. The season is not tagged yuri but it honestly should be, even though it may not be the primary focus of the arc.

Major spoiler about the ending:
Numachi dies. I think it was pretty bittersweet but it's been a while since I watched it so I may remember that wrong.
