I've read all loli from Shou before Prism was made and I don't remember any rape in them, it's all consensual sex, so don't say it's basically rape, because it's not rape since they wanted it.

Lolis are too young to consent, tis' rape every single one of them. You have to think not in your depraved hentai goggles but as a respectful individual. I know, it's hard...

You want to argue about laws when we're talking about hentai? Really? I've read a lot of rape so I know very well when it's rape, so I repeat, Shou never made rape, he did loli hentai, deal with it.

It's becoming annoying how some of you keep whining because Shou made loli hentai, accept it and go on with your life.

Not gonna comment on the rape or Shou because I'm not gonna read his loli porn, but yes, being hentai doesn't excuse the lack of like, common decency. Just because the average hentai is shitty and morally wrong doesn't make the individual hentai less shitty and morally wrong.

But I think we had this discussion before and it's only gonna take like 10 posts at most until Nezchan says to cut it. So let's just cut it now.

It's fiction, it don't need to have decency and morality, it's whatever the creator want it to be, those who don't like it don't read it, or you also want to discuss how hentai is offensive and degrading to fictonal characters?

And I'm not going to say more so we don't go off topic.

Anyway, I didn't say Shou's loli hentai was filthy, or wrong. I'm not that a bigot when it comes to 2D. I couldn't care less about the wellbeing of pixels. I just said it was disturbing, because when you look at the characters, you can see a young Hikaru, a young Megumi, a young Ran, a young Keiko.

We spend a long time here pondering and writing about the thought process of fictionnal characters, empathizing with them, delving into their personnal "stories". So why wouldn't it be the same with hentai characters, especially when the setups are realistic, like in Shou's work? If you follow the same process than with Stretch characters, then it becomes disturbing, because you can only come to the conclusion that the characters in there are all very sick.

And yes, there's rape, because at least twice in what I read, the "receiving character" was asleep and unable to consent. I know it's a setup by the author to allow consent down the road because "it's sooo good I can't help to want more...", but it describes rape nevertheless.

So I accept he did write that kind of stuff, probably because he enjoys it and it makes good money, but it doesn't mean I have to like it.

tldr; when you read something you enjoy immensely, like Stretch or Prism, you want to admire the author and think that he's a great person because he can write something like this, but then you are confronted to the reality of the person and it's a let down.

Well of course you'll see young versions of them, you expected that when he did a non-h manga he would change completely his art? That was inevitable, but I understand why that's feel disturbig for some of you.

It wouldn't be the same because almost all hentai is not made to be something deep, it just have excuse plot for characters to have sex, even if it's made by Shou you can't compare to Stretch, his loli hentai is nothing special or realistic, it's just normal fap material, no deep story or anything like that, you guys are just thinking too much about it.

Nope, it's not rape, if you had read it you would have seen that in the last page the girl herself says it was all roleplay, if you pay attention you'll even notice that except for the first page and the last two all others have black background, because it was the girl thinking about the sex she had last night, all his loli is pretty tame compared to most mangakas because he never did rape or anything that involves something the girl don't want.

Of course you don't need to like it, but want to believe that only because someone made something you like he's a great person, that's just being naive, you're just forcing your unrealistic expectations on him, he's not a great guy just because he's good at writing and not a horrible person because he made loli, no one have the right to feel disappointed because he likes to make loli hentai, he's an inperfect human with flaws like everyone else, if you really like him you'll need to accept the things you don't like in him, Warts and All.

And one last thing, I don't know if it'll make you guys feel better, but his last loli release was his anthology Nymphodelic in 2013, all chapters came months before, after it's release he started Stretch and didn't make any new hentai, and after the success of Prism and the success Stretch is making, I don't think he'll make any hentai for a long time, if he even make hentai again since he's so good at writing.

So now people plese, stop whining because he made loli hentai.

Honestly, that is a pretty narrow and somewhat unfair point of view.

Creators are humans too, and are free to like and do whatever the hell they want. By putting them on a pedestal, you are only setting yourself for a massive dissapointment.

I do the same damn thing.
Do you use an open palm to the forehead or a closed fist straight to the face?

Closed fist of course!

Takachi, I like my eyes so no v sign. Nice and blue.

This thread got me all nostalgic for my first ever thread derailment.

Edit: Nya chan did not argue that writers, and people we admire in general, should be perfect, only that it is natural for most to assume they are, to some extent. And of course, she is right in that, most people do or have done this.

we've been here a bunch of times before, so let's not go there again. i don't know why it's so difficult for people to accept that you can separate the works of an artist and the artist themselves. you can enjoy the work, but dislike the artist and vice versa.

maybe i find this mental gymnastic doable because my favourite book is lolita but that's besides the point. stretch is great. it inspired me to change my dp after like...5 years.

I would also like to know why it's so difficult, can someone explain it please?

So you like Lolita...? you also like lolis? are you a conrade? o7

And please explain what you mean by dp, I can't help but think about another meaning to it that definitely don't have anything to do to what you meant...

no i'm not a 'comrade', whatever the hell that means. lolita is an excellent piece of prose. it's explicitly stated that the author himself is anything but a paedophile and has nothing but disdain for the MC. let's cut this discussion here. it's neither here nor there.

And please explain what you mean by dp

Well, I've failed my psychology exam so I'm no expert, but I assume it's the same mechanism which allowed for monarchies and the like; people viewed the king as someone inherently superior to themselves because of his status as The King. Because they are better than us, we believe them to be perfect (this because I believe most people are at all times have both a superiority and inferiority complex; they are better than I am, but I am awesome so they must be perfect.). This same mechanism I think applies to all who we admire; we think that they are better than us and thus they must be infallible.

We don't like it when something we thought infallible defies are illusions. See; French revolution, English Civil War etc...

I think. Maybe.
