Okay so in addition to Ni Shang being Yandere, the main character is a complete moron.

A person you think has hated you for a long time is not high on your list of people who would gift you a brooch. She's not a moron, Ni Shang is for not communicating.

Yandere tag needed

I mean, this woman has been very obviously cutting the MC off from any other people since childhood, and that's an extremely psychotic thing to do. So this is absolutely yandere.

Idk she doesn’t seem that crazy
Yet

What part of "Manipulated people and events to ensure that the MC can only ever be with her" does not seem crazy to you

That's literal, real-life abuser behavior. It's extremely controlling and she's been doing it for years

If that was her goal she's been spectacularly unsuccessful, since Yu Wan has at least one close friend and seems to barely interact with Ni Shang at all anymore. So it would seem she's at least changed her approach since they were kids.

Does anyone have any recommendations which is similar to this "haters to lovers" trope?

When the Villainess Meets the Yandere is probably the most prominent recent example.

I know they're supposed to be enemies or whatever, but reading "that bitch" over and over again is kind of tiring.

I'd honestly never want to work for her company tbh.

Also if she's eventually trying to win her heart over shouldn't Ni Shang like I don't know STOP pissing her off over and over and over again? All she keeps doing is making her hate her even more. That's really going to accomplish that goal isn't it?

You know the old saying you catch more flies with honey? Like maybe try a different approach?

Also in most enemies to lovers stories the person being an asshole usually has a valid reason to be one... Ni Shang just seems to like being a giant twat waffle and has their in entire lives tattling on her etc even if the excuse is she wanted her all to herself okay then BE NICE INSTEAD MAYBE?

That outfit with the beret is really cute, and the black and gold dress from the first two chapters is gorgeous.

I'm really getting the impression the title is actually secretly from Ni Shang's perspective, about Yu Wan. Because looking at her behavior, both in the flashbacks and in the present, I genuinely think that Ni Shang is (relatively) innocent here. She seems more than anything to just be a really big stickler for the rules, thus all her tattling as a kid, and her response to Yu Wan showing up late and out of dress code. If anything, I just have to question why she still has an obvious crush on Yu Wan even after all these years, given the latter's just-as-obvious hostility toward her. (That she even seems to be on some level aware of, given the indirect method of delivering the brooch originally.)

I don't think she's a yandere or an abuser, though. I just think she's very dense, very strict, and afflicted with some severe Resting Bitch Face.

EDIT: The bathroom thing, though, is pretty extreme, I'm surprised all her employees haven't quit over that.

Yeah, I was feeling that way too. Probably the most "bitch" I've seen said in one chapter of anything

So on top of manipulating people and events to maintain control over the main character, we now have power harassment.
Ni Shang isn't an idiot; She has to know that the main character hates her guts. But instead of trying to make amends, she immediately uses her position of power to force the MC into obedient subservience. This is consistent with her previous controlling behavior and it's deeply creepy.
I'm really questioning the "Romantic Comedy" label at this point because this is neither romantic nor funny.

I for one believe these two kinda awful women should make each others' lives worse even harder

Ni Shang is seriously going about all of this the wrong way. I get she thinks Wanwan is cute when she gets pissed off at her... But she's not solving this issue at all. And she's still being a giant snitch to her dad which is just pissing her off even more.

And she can say the only reason her dad knew anything was because she barged it but that's a flat out lie with what her dad said about "If you hadn't called I would have no idea how bad that spoiled brat had gotten"

If I was Wanwan I'd honestly hate her as well Ni Shang seriously needs to change her approach making her a random ass lunch and calling it a free company lunch does nothing to fix her issues with Wanwan.

Maybe I'm just annoyed with how she's handling it and would be just as pissed off if not worse than Wanwan is right now.

Thank you for the translate and upload as always Shepherd

Alright I gave it to chapter 4 and though I've rarely done this with yuri works, I'm dropping this. Reading "that bitch" over and over again is annoying, and the plot makes no sense.

ni shang is level 100 boss in power hara?

Okay so in addition to Ni Shang being Yandere, the main character is a complete moron.

Be fair, she doesn't know she's in a romantic comedy. All the obvious stuff here is only obvious when you know the setup.

"How much longer will it take before you understand?" does everything but explicitly confess to her

(snip) and the plot makes no sense.

wdym? i for one am loving this harrowing look into the dangers of manipulation and abuse that even well-to-do young ladies entering the workforce are exposed to.

irony aside, i am actually enjoying this manga. i think Ni Shang's aggressiveness is refreshing, it kind of reminds me of a stereotypical romance manga with an aggressive male lead, it's rare to see a female character portrayed this way.
