[...] in that case she would definitely be lesbian even if she had sex with man, but in that kind of period she would probably have no choice but marry a man, which is not the case for the movie as she chose to cheat on her wife with a man, she decided to sleep with a man because she wanted.

I was only using it to illustrate a point: it's about your desire, not exactly who you're sleeping with. Since we have no direct access to other people's head, they could be sleeping with someone of the opposite sex while fantasizing sexing one of the same sex. Or vice-versa.

True, although I don't think that was the case in the movie, but well, we should stop here about the movie, like you said you din't actually watch it and well, neither me, I basically just read spoilers about it so we don't actually have any idea how it really is to give opinion.

And what's this about self-inserts? Do all these women who love yaoi want to be a guy and XXX another guy? Do the male yuri fans want to be schliked by a girl?

I'm a male yuri fan, but I hate self-insert, so I can't help you with that.
Self insert with lesbian is relevant when they have to make every girl interested in the (male) mc because they need to raise his ego. So even a lesbian will sometimes fall in love with him. That's why I brought the subject.

I would very much like to be a girl and lesbian but not because of the sex

Funny how being a girl would be way better to me because of my personality and tastes.
Everytime I see femminists saying how good it is to be a man because of men's privileges, I wanted to ask them to switch with me, then. Those privileges are the kind I never asked for and I don't want them most of the times, but everyone tries to force them on me.
That's besides the point, though.

I watched the movie.
Hated it. It's just about a women cheating her wife with the father of their children and all the drama besides it.

It's also the first time I saw that thing about lesbians watching gay porn. I still don't get it even today.
"Oh, but lesbians porn is so unrealistic".
Yeah...all porn is unrealistic. Still don't make sense watching porn with a gender you don't feel attracted to. That's not why porn exists.

And well, if you identify as a girl, nothing keeps you from being a lesbian.

My genitalia says otherwise.

As someone who read this site, you do know that genitalia aren't necessarily defining your gender, do you?

See Marika. She's a girl. If she liked girls, she'd be a lesbian. No question.

That's what I hate most in harem, when they decide to insert lesbian character who magically falls in love with male mc because he's nice.

True, being a man have it's advantages, but we're hairy, we're expected to "act like a man", our cloths are plain and boring, we can't use cute things or do cute things because everyone will judge us, being a man sucks.

I have the impression most lesbians hated the movie, I'll never understand why some lesbian watch male gay porn, that doesn't make sense!

Touche sis, although in my case I'm not sure if I would define myself as a woman, I don't really define myself as a man either, it's more like because how I am I always felt I would be happier as a woman, but I don't have that need to be one so I'm not trans either, not sure how I could define myself.

IN FACT, FORGET THE YURI!

I'd rather forget the hookers and blackjack personally.

Could potentially fall under agender or genderfluid.

Further, doesn't Thia identify as a dude? So his genitals can talk to him all they want, it's not relevant to the initial statement.

Well, if he hears his genitals talking, I think he may have other issues.

Well I identify as dude mostly because I grow up as one thanks to my genital, with time gender kind of lost meaning, because of that I don't always feel as male, female or neither, so I guess I could be genderfluid, sometimes I'm not even sure I feel human, but of course most people don't want to understand so I say I'm male by default out of habit, it's easier, and although I definitely prefer woman I don't really have objection for gender or anything else so possible pansexual too, obviously like with gender I say to others I'm straight cause it's easier, but maybe it's good I'm not a woman, my body would probably be quite used by now, man, woman, animals, objects, anything that moves or don't moves, I'm quite a slut at spirit...

As for my talking genitalia, you guys talk as if that is a issue, it's basically a friend for life with who I can talk and play, problem only when it pukes.

As for talking vagina, there's a manga exactly about that but I don't remember the name, someone knows it?

Yeah, this discussion was getting to be a turn-off already what with the Wise Sage Holding Forth stuff, but this pretty much put it in "kill it with fire" territory.

Discussions on Dynasty never stay on topic for long.

And just for records, I said in spirit, I never did anything, not even kiss or hold hand, never found the right person, so never felt like doing things with anyone just for fun yet, my body is pure but my spirit is rotten.

Anyway, BL as a genre is basically exclusively read by females

While I agree that the yuri demographic is more diverse than the yaoi one, men readership of yaoi isn't negligible at all.

For example a quotation from an American editor (Yaoi Press):

At everythingyaoi.com I'm seeing 25% to 30% of the orders placed by men. At the conventions there's around the same percentage of men buying the books at the booth. I've heard people say that 90-95% of people who buy yaoi are women. My experience shows 25-30% are men.
GloBLisation and Hybridisation

While in Japan, I have a physical French revue (dated from 2008) saying that if the male readership of the yaoi magazines is negligible (around 1%), it's not the case concerning the volumes in libraries, with a male readership estimated around 25 and 30% (so, same numbers than in America).

Even if that's still the case, publishers don't make money from libraries. They make money from actual magazine sales. So of course they're going to cater primarily to the demographic actually buying most of the magazines and doujins.
