The more I read over this one, the more disappointed I am in it. It seemed cute at first but I've gotten so tired of the oblivious love interest trope. It's like manga characters, especially in yuri seem to not only catch the Idiot Ball, they make sweet sweet love to it.

I often wonder why people like that bother, i feel defeated whenever i have to check a reference photo to fix a body thats perceptive doesn't look right and can't imagine if I had to trace everything to convince people i had any talent. I find it ironic that the comic and game industry loves to sue people for infringement yet is one of the biggest offenders must be the "to big to fail" mentality.

Im sure everyone can read, but that the shared opinion is that the ending was lackluster/generic and that a few 3-4 page extra's won't change that.

The ending was awesome dudes. Just because they weren't having sloppy makeouts on the grass doesn't mean it wasn't a great ending to the story. Like Ebisu-san, sometimes showing the manga ending just as the relationship really begins is the best ending possible, as it doesn't have to force in a kiss just for the sake of having one. The bonus chapters adding more to said relationship is just the icing on the cake.

I don't think anyone was looking for that, But i would have definitely liked to see some acknowledgement of past events, I mean if a samesex "friend" of mine offered me the chance to experiment with same-sex relationships I probably wouldn't ignore it the next day like the main character did. some sort of reaction is to be expected when you drop a bomb like that (especially since if i remember correctly she spent time in the west before going to japan, in the rare event ignoreing your friends homosexual lust for you is a Japanese things lol.). overall i liked the story but after that part it kinda jumped the shark.

I guess you were just trying to heckle people and insulting they're ability to read for the fun of it then, as you've proven without a shadow of a doubt i was the only one who didn't like the ending. if you only speak for yourself i recommend removing the yuri project tag then. for what its worth i enjoyed your translation and am aware of the special chapters i just think that the chance to make a truly good ending was botched and won't have the same impact if the story needs extra's to flesh the situation out further. (i usually exclude extra's when judging a story as a whole.)

That happened in like freakin' chapter 4. It's been like 2 weeks since that in story time, so I don't know why you think it'd be relevant in this last chapter. Particularly since way bigger things had happened for their relationship since then, namely misunderstandings/drama and them not even talking to each other. The reason Yuri and Misono fell out wasn't romantic in the first place (it was about Yuri being bothered by Misono's status and them questioning the very existence of their friendship) so there was no reason to shove that in.

Would it have been good to get back around to the same-sex romantic developments? Sure, of course. But when you consider that the emotional core of this series was about Yuri and Misono opening up as friends from the beginning, it's only natural that the conclusion addresses those themes first.

For some reason it seems like the words "ending" or "final chapter" always seem to distract people into ranting about their expectations, rather than paying attention to what would actually make sense for the story's plot. If Tsubomi had gone on longer and this series had gotten a longer serialization, the romance would have continued from this point. Since it didn't, we'll have to look to the extras for romantic resolution, but that doesn't mean that what we actually got up to now wasn't well written or doesn't make sense. This ending is exactly where you should have expected the story to stop after you heard that it would conclude with the second volume.

Just sit tight and wait for the extras, like people have said so many times. Do you think the author actually wanted to end the story here, or wasn't constrained by the end of his serialization? Wait until the full comments come out and the story actually finishes before jumping to sweeping conclusions like you are now.

What I find interesting is in the end where Shinobu finishes up her story after seeing Yuri and Fujiwara make up. It ties into the beginning of the whole series nicely when Fujiwara mistakes Yuri's manga being about herself and Yuri and Yuri denying it. Turns out it was them all along! XD

That actually ended up being the real life case of Eiki-Eiki and Zaoh, friends of them pointed out events in a yoai manga they wrote actually happened in real life with them. I wonder if the author took inspiration from that.

Anyways...

I never expected this manga to end in any other way. It could have gone extreme with the Yuri-ism end and had French kisses, maybe sex, and what not, while making the end more bland of such love would make it more of a Good/Best Friends ending which would irritate us all (maybe not everyone...). So really, kudos to the author for ending the story with a sweet touch that is fitting, all while balancing out the Yuri-to-Friendship meter.

Thanks to Yuri Project for preparing the entire series, been a while since I got some eye candy and thank you, Mr. uploader, for, well, uploading this piece.

I didn't see any bluntness. Really. It is a lot more complicated than that.

Kurashiki spoke her true feelings, and didn't really get what she was saying herself. Fujiwara got it, and reacted to it, but when it became obvious that Kurashiki wasn't thinking that far ahead, she basically said she could wait for her to come around.

I will miss the series. :P I have it tagged as one of my favorites. :)
