The fun part of thug of war don't really works when the one on the offense is also the one with the ascendent in their interactions. I get the author probably wanted to do the thing with "the one in the superior position in the work hierarchy is being pressed by the kouhai", but since the Kouhai completely disregard the autority of the Senpai anyway, that aspect becomes irrelevant. So it just feel one sided instead of a battle of the both of them equally struggling trying to overcome the other. It also makes the kouhai less sympathetic since she isn't struggling much. And chapter 1 is probably way to much of a W for the kouhai too.

Though, i realise... having enough Yuri available that i can just be that picky is a good "problem" to have. Would have punched people in the face to have that problem 13 years ago.

Meh. Ch.1 is basically date rape, if the narrative is true (which it might or might not be). And going after "conceited women" might be kinda interesting, but Chiaki doesn't seem to have an arrogant bone in her body. Even ch.1 her "rival" at the office she's basically got nothing but praise for. So basically it all comes across as pretty obnoxious to me.

She really isn't and that's kind of the point I think. Chiaki's annoyance at Mashiro coming on to her alongside the fact that she is just a genuinely competent career woman has created the illusion that she's the haughty stuck up type but Mashiro is already getting hints that her target is off-base with the reveal that Chiaki arranged the welcome party and calls for a taxi to take them both home.

So my bet is, the story is going to be about how Mashiro thinks she's got her typical target but really doesn't and that's what'll make her fall for real.

I love the focus on their nails and can't wait to see if Chiaki eventually changes hers as she falls for Mashiro.
