^I've seen a fair amount of people dismissing the ship by calling it selfcest, and I'm like it's whatever. They're different characters, the artist just wanted to basically do a color swap for the MC and Rival.

Plus I've shipped actual selfcest and adjacent ships before, so that wouldn't even stop me here anyways lmao

^I don't think that sounds silly at all. I dislike locks, especially gender locks, and a lack of options. I want to be a cute girl with a cute girl rival, and let people that want to be a cute guy with a cute guy rival enjoy that as well. Let everyone enjoy playing as who they want with the rival that they want. Options are good in my opinion, and gender locks such as this feel very hetero-normative to me, which I'm not a fan of.

^ Based on the trailer footage we got, it's my speculation that it will be gender locked, unfortunately. None of the footage showing MC and rival are ever same sex. Here's hoping I'm pleasantly surprised, but I doubt it.

^I missed some information when I first saw the trailer, but later I saw on Twitter that there's text on top of the scene in the trailer that confirms it. So we are unfortunately gender locked in this situation, and knowing that is part of where my venting is coming from with my previous comment.
