I don't know if this is the best place to talk about this, but I recently got around to reading the Sayaka novels. I didn't love Sayaka in the manga, so I was a bit sceptical about giving the novels a try, but it was absolutely worth it. Hitoma Iruma's introspective style really suited this work and managed to make Sayaka a much more interesting and sympathetic character to me.
I particularly liked the first part of the series. The third novel was also a delight and it was great to finally get a happy conclusion to Sayaka's story. I didn't like the second novel as much, mostly because Touko seemed too obvisouly imperfect, to the point where it made me question how no one else had noticed. Manaka and Midori were a fun pair, though. I loved all Sayaka-Yuu interactions; the author really captured their vibe, while also convincingly showing their friendly relationship past high school. Overall, a great reading experience.
