@No Rae Fa So La Ti Do
You have no idea the squeals you elicited when I saw 'future wife'. God that caught my breath. Btw, you're missing a 'Mi' in your username.
shake my head
I can't believe I did that, lol.Does 'No-rae' even rhyme with 'Do Re?' I really wish I knew how to pronounce the characters' names. I assume Seol-a is pronounced 'say-ola' or 'seeyola' but I have no clue.
Yes it rhyme well with Do Re but you're totally wrong for Seol-a x)
You can listen to it with google translate :
https://translate.google.fr/#ko/en/%EC%84%A4%EC%95%84
For No-rae, paste 노래 (well, I just listened to the their No-rae and it sound kinda weird, I thought it was way more of a "n" sound but I'm not an expert... x))

I'll post it here too, I guess. I'm lost about what the two guys were discussing. Something that's already happened or something that's about to happen. If it's the former, how does it make No-Rae aware of where to look for the two? If it's the latter, what's with the pic of Seol-A and Kyung-Woo?

yes

More like So La, where the O is like the one in 'lOve' pronounced with a particular British accent (not sure which part, Scotland may be) where it sounds almost like [O] rather than [/\]. You know, similar to how these British would read "but" and "much" almost like [U] rather than [/\]
PS. Not that I'm a big specialist in Korean though LOL. halmoni will probably correct me ^__^

They are talking about what is happening, what Kyung-Woo is like, and what he is trying to do with Seol-a. So... the past, present, and future is what they are talking about in regards to Seol-a and Kyung-woo.
And I've been pronouncing Seol-a as Soul-Ah and No-rae as No-ray lol.
i've never really understood the vehement hatred towards ji-hwan but i think by now most people will have realised that he's an angel compared to kyeong-woo
palakangorange:
I'm of similar opinion as yuridaisuki (except I put off studying all day for it instead lol).
huhuhu. I'm really trying to delay gratifications so what I did, I studied for nine hours. Jgh from the lib and now, No-rae ssi, where art thou? I know in that 1 hour gap you'll be able to find Seol-a....
Hah, you need to tell me the secret to your dedication. Or the trick...goodness knows mine could use a good whacking into place.
(She better find Seol-a or imma be pissed)

LOL. I just want to see what happens when No-rae tries to get a drunk Seol-a home. I'd imagine it'd be extremely funny (since Seol-a would be all over her in the taxi I'm assuming she's taking...idk how poor No-rae will deal with that), especially if she's not able to find Seol-a's keys.
After how nervous and unsettled this cliffhanger has left me, this possibility made me smile. :) She won't need a key since it's an electronic lock but, if Seol-a is too drunk to tell No-rae what the pin number is, then No-rae will have to bring her back to her place (again). haha.
Heh glad to be of service. :3 [And totally forgot it was a electronic lock, but that makes it even better!] Like you said, I reallllly doubt Seol-a will be able to (or purposely won't) tell her, so that she can (attempt to) accost the shorter girl in the latter's apartment. I'm firmly believing this will be canon, and thus eagerly awaiting the next chapter!!

But over-hearing a conversation at the vending machine about precisely the person that's on your mind and what she's doing right now and with who, completely by sheer dumb luck is bit too much for me. It advances the story, okay, but it seems artificial to me.
And I'd rather take the wikipedia definition : a seemingly unsolvable problem is suddenly and abruptly resolved by the contrived and unexpected intervention of some new event, character, ability or object. Depending on how it is done, it can be intended to move the story forward when the writer has "painted himself into a corner" and sees no other way out, to surprise the audience, to bring the tale to a happy ending, or as a comedic device.
It's not the event in itself I criticize. It's the way No-rae is involved in that event.
I'm much with the others on this, but I suppose I'll add in my two cents.
I think you have to take into account the people involved. First, No-rae constantly has Seol-a on her mind. So your point about her overhearing them while she's thinking about Seol-a is kind of moot, so to speak.
The second thing is that Seol-a is the most popular, envied, and lusted after girl in school. Everyone is talking about her. I do agree that it is a coincidence, but really...the school doesn't seem that big (and since I went to an undergrad with 20k+ people, I would know...and even there I had to try to avoid people I didn't want to see). People are going to cross paths frequently. Furthermore, this seems to have taken place at the end of classes, when people are getting ready to go home. No-rae doesn't want to go home, because she's afraid she'll run into Seol-a (I'm assuming, but it would explain why she's sitting there and why she moves to go home after she hears that conversation). All of this considered, I don't think it's that big of a coincidence (and it especially doesn't rise to the level of deus ex machina...but someone else already went into quite a bit of detail on that point, and I completely agree with everything said).

wow, awesome! Guess I was sorta wrong about the L/R xD and lol, halmoni, you voice is amazing, pls, marry me xD
It wouldn't be that weird for No-Rae to go to the exact place Seol-A is at, because she apparently overheard everything that the random guys said and they mentioned where Kyung-woo and Seol-A were at the moment. Though, it's also possible that she is going to call Seol-A again and when she notices Seol-A is drunk she is going to ask her where she is so she can pick her up. Or maybe, Kyung-woo will take Seol-A home, because he wants to have sex with her at her place, but they'll meet No-rae at the door. And there might be other options, but I can't imagine something unrealistic happening like sometimes happens in yuri mangas.
About the pronunciation, I always pronounced their names correctly, gotta thank my years into kpop lol.

Thank you for posting the link Trafi! and halmoni, geez, you're just building a legion of followers here haha.
side note on the whole realistic debate: the same thing literally happened to me before. I heard an asshat discussing how he was going to nail a former-friend [he didn't know we knew each other], how he was going to lose his virginity, and where/how he was going to get condoms and high-fiving his friends and all that shite. It was disgusting.
The big difference was that I didn't say anything, like a twit [the only other difference was that he was actually her boyfriend at the time]. At least it seems like No-rae's a much better person than me.

I think he's more thinking of taking her to an hotel. He don't want to be interrupted by people from school, that's why he went far away.

I agree guys are often disguting when they come in group. Groups of girls can be scary too though.
But since I suppose you didn't harbor romantic feelings for said friend, I don't see why you should have been involved. It doesn't make you a bad person to not meddle in someone else's life.

omggg people still have this link SO EMBARRASSINGGG
Seol-a is pronounced more like "Suh-ra" and No-rae is pronounced "Noh-reh".

Honestly, there is nothing to be embarrassed about! You've got a nice voice... I'm actually kinda jealous because I sound like a 5 years old girl on drugs... on good days that is. orz
Is it possible for you to write down the names in the same order that you're saying them? I'm not familiar with the Korean language at all. Going by your pronunciation, Kim No-rae was the only name I've read correctly so far.
Seol-a is pronounced more like "Suh-ra".
Oh! Is it what the one you're saying at 5s mark?
Thanks for the link by the way, it's nice to be able to actually get the names right.

BTW, randomly,
HypocriticalLiar,
did you make your current avatar yourself?
Did you really take that phone picture from chapter 29 and Photoshop out Gyeong-woo, lol?

I cringed listening to my own voice but I did it fo you okay
Name list:
Kim No-rae, Kim Ssong (No-rae's nickname), Baek Seol-a, Hwang Hye Kyung, Kkyung (Hye-kyung's nickname), Nam Ji-hwan, Kim Kyung-woo, Hee-jin (her surname wasn't revealed at the time I made this), Choi Min-jung, Baek Jin-woo (Seol-a's brother), Jang Yu-ji (evil high school bitch).
Honestly, I like it when people have cute or feminine voices. Better than sounding like a 13 year old boy going through puberty lol

....Well yes. >____> I wasn't planning on doing it until I read halmoni's translation. This was kind of my way of exacting a secret (I also didn't really think anyone would notice haha, I tend to forget what panels look like myself) revenge.
aka I really liked the way Seol-a looked in the picture, and I was kind of hating on the dude quite a lot so I figuratively/literally erased his existence. ^^;;

lmao! you definitely didn't sound like a boy to me. idk. maybe it's that thing where people here their own voices differently when recorded and played back.

I KNOW. Which is kinda sad, because the people I usually get along with the easiest are guys...and yet some of them are just so urgh. [I do tend to stay away from groups of girls though...I often find I can't relate at all.]
I appreciate you saying that. :) I can't help but feel I should have done something though...but at least it all worked out in the end.

Lol that is soooooo true
date rape?
Nah, I still believe the guy's a chicken and doesn't have guts to rape her. What I can easily believe is him making a selfie with Seol-A in his bed as a "proof". Besides she's already in a state where she can't even reply a word. Unless the guy has a thing for doing unconscious or sleeping girls.... I can even imagine him leaving our girl alone in the bar, just cause he has no idea what to do with her being so drunk.
So No-Rae better come and pick her up. This might create a scene though. Good they are in a very remote area.

They are actually in a different area, not remote, from where people from the school frequent so the guy can make his moves without worrying about others interfering.

erm... I'm not a native English speaker, so I'm sorry if I used the word incorrectly... however I don't think Merriam explains it much differently. Regardless, "distant" would've probably been a better word.
No worries. Remote basically means, out in the middle of jack-shit nowhere. And distant works :) But for not being "native," your English reads just fine. What is your native tongue, if I may ask?

ha, I see what you did there xD
...I think we all know what that dude bought at the convenience store. Let's just hope that No Rae comes to the rescue before the guy got his hands on Seol A
