Speak for yourself. On the east coast at least, it's Junior High from 7-9, and Senior High from 10-12. It varies a lot.

What's more, there's no such thing as middle/high school differentiation.
In fact, if you translate it literally, the "high school" would mean University/College here, and the regular school is called "middle" until graduation.
