Well, Aerith being the one to top and initiate while Tifa gets to enjoy being played with really is as old as the game. Internet porn wasn't really a big thing back then, but one of the first hentai doujin I ever read (Mainly Aerith x Yuffie, but Tifa also gets to play at the end) also uses the characters this way, though at least going by Dynasty's release date it's 10 years younger than the game. Not sure if I didn't find it a few years earlier than that somewhere, but it's been a long time regardless.

Also, the artstyle looks really similar to Ken Akamatsu's, almost eerily so.

Seriously, the vast majority of Gundam stories are perfectly happy. The way things have been going so far, I expect the things to mostly work out for the main characters, and the overall setting to start heading towards a happier future
