This artist always make manga with terrible characters and plot... just my opinion.

What happen is that you don't like drama dude. Naoko likes drawing this type of manga. Next time check the tags so that you avoid "wasting" your time.

No, no. The characthers being horrible people makes for a good plot.

That is true but that also makes the story hard to read and a little bad cause it feels frustrating and wrong
My opinion

I think this shows a hint of the other girls like feelings or at least that she was trying to get her friend to say something (woman with short hair was smiling smugly). And people don't just call people drunk especially not Miss. Cares about appearances. She did everything in a calculated way. Now I'm not saying the main character wasn't a scumbag at the end for seemingly forcing herself on a drunk girl. But the other girl never told her to stop or not to kiss her, so the lack of "stop it" makes me think that the other girl knew main character's feelings and was just trying to get her to say something. And plus she was commenting on her house and building her up or making it seem like her friend was ya know rich, so maybe it was her way of saying,"Ask me out you wimp. You're my type. Loaded with cash." Hahahahahahhaha.

Don't mind me y'all. I've read this story like 4 times already. I do think that it has odd progression and the weird cutting out the main character for like 3 pages then the drunk call. It made it seem like it had no time for a better story to develop. If that makes sense?

I adore this, you can just FEEL the sheer contempt they have for each other.

I'm completely fucking wasted rn. Anyone care to explain to me why's blond girl bad to me? She seems kinda fine just in love with a gold digger

She was pretty pushy with a (very) drunk girl who she knew probably didn't feel the same way about girls.

I mean the story doesn't tell us the details on the lack of consent, but I think it counts. She was so drunk she called the wrong person and couldn't even walk properly without support.

But yeah, Ayaka is supposed to be the 'bad person' here.

I don't think Ayaka call wrong person. Look at how she smile when Mitsuki shows up, all according to plan :)))

I wonder if that is what it meant by 'realistic' for Ayaka?

I just re-read this. Still fun! If a frustrating ending... kind of want to see Mitsuki become Ayaka's rich (well, secure) lover, but it's left to our imagination.

Probably the biggest tragic element is that if Mitsuki had been honest during the sleepover, things might have taken a rather different tack. Ayaka was being pretty physically pushy there, and yeah highlighting "you're rich! (or rich enough)"

Though there's "that's the kind of girl you are" here https://dynasty-scans.com/chapters/pretender#41
hard to tell if Ayaka was earlier suspecting Mitsuki of liking her or not. I bet Kodama loves "you can't tell what the other girl is thinking" ambiguity.

The gold digger turns out to be a poor girl desperate to get out of her situation

I mean, what do you think the typical gold digger is?

Good point!

She was so drunk she called the wrong person and couldn't even walk properly without support.

Based on https://dynasty-scans.com/chapters/pretender#38 and not having "decent parents" I don't think Ayaka meant to call her father. But based on https://dynasty-scans.com/chapters/pretender#33 I think she wanted to sound like she was calling her father, to drive off a pushy guy.

As for not walking properly, sometimes people fake that. In college, I had a good friend, whom I'd see at big parties almost falling-down drunk, draped on/clinging to her boy. I was very worried for her, mostly for simply being that drunk. Except, one time, I saw her detach from the boy, and walk in a straight line across the courtyard. So apparently not so drunk after all. And my friend was not a full-time manipulator like Ayaka.

In short, you can't always tell. Though the fact that Ayaka didn't notice Mitsuki rifling her purse does suggest being fairly out of it.

I don't see how "Mitsuki isn't interested in guys because she doesn't have to be."

Well, that was Ayaka's take. "You don't have to hook a rich husband or a decent life."
