No, I'm just using the original series' couple Aang and Katara as a comparison. Plus Aang and Katara were always implied. The Last air bender ended with a kiss between them, Korra ended with hand holding. And no, I don't care about a Twitter post or the comics, a show should be able to stand on its own.

The writers wanted to put the kiss in there and pushed hard for it but got shut down. The Twitter post and follow-up comics were them continuing the fight for their vision.
