That felt eerily like the situation when my gramps went was described to me. Just dropped on the way back from playing cards with his friends (and winning big time), face forward on the ground. Sudden heart attack. No suffering, no long drawn-out illness, no loss of dignity. Kinda the perfect way to go.
This is exactly why I haven't been able to read every chapter of this, as adorable and wholesome as it is, because it's impactful and it kinda hurts to read.

Hope Gen is alright and just took a fall, but Chiaki's picture falling down at the exact same moment sure doesn't bode well. The rest of the series being about Ponko and everyone dealing with his death and moving on would hurt like hell, but would be interesting too.

There's something about the kids calling him "Ponko's grandpa" that is just so precious.

been missing out on several chapters and had to catch up. once again, thnx for your hard work. that was scary on the last chapter of the 8th volume. good to see Genji is back to his usual grumpy self.

Can't help but get the FEELS when they were walking around the hospital. I would like to be there for the last moments but you really never know when it will happen. Ah inevitable sadness and death.
